According to one story, the use of the complete phrase hot dog was by coined Thomas Dorgan circa 1900 in a cartoon recording the sale of hot dogs during a New York Giants baseball game. He may have used the term because he did not know how to spell "dachshund" #hotdogfacts #gamedev #hotdogreporter

Antoine Feuchtwanger sold hot dogs in St. Louis, Missouri, providing gloves to his customers so they could handle the sausages without burning their hands. Losing money when customers did not return the gloves, his wife suggested serving them in a roll. #hotdogfacts #gamedev

It is debated whether a hot dog is a sandwich. The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council says a hot dog is not a sandwich. Hot dog eating champions Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi agree with the NHDSC. Merriam-Webster, however, has stated that a hot dog is indeed a sandwich. #hotdogfacts #gamedev
