It's the same for proofreaders and editors too. In some cases I'm now making less per page than I did 10 years ago, since it's all third-party jobs and gig work, compared with when I was working directly with actual publishers. How can you sustain a professional life like this?

My son's take on it was Kara wasn't saying it was wrong to kill the villain, it was that a child shouldn't kill someone because it would then shape the rest of her life. Kara is an adult and takes on the weight/consequences of killing him for her. My son liked this movie a lot. I thought it was OK.

Been there. My take is that when they're older an important thing they will remember is that you spent a lot of time with them. My son is an adult now and still laughs about times we had at toy shows searching for stuff, though I can remember some of those days then were not good days.
