4. We really need to stop this mindset that higher stats = better read. Some of the best fics I’ve ever read have > 100 kudos but there’s no way to encourage alternate means of finding good fic to read beyond bringing back reclists.

Because it makes popular writers feel bad or like they’re being judged or called shallow which is… not the intent. No one should be attacking each other!! But it is hard for both sides when you can’t wish more people were into your niche recipe cake without someone acting like you hate vanilla.

2. Popular writers are the ones who are the most consistent and write strictly in the same ship/niche and gain a large following of people who know to come to that writer for that thing and also in some cases trust them enough that when they branch out they’re willing to try a new thing.
