I've been dumping "lo-fi beats" style music from my rotation, and lately @tottomori.bsky.social has been helping me keep focused. Feels like I'm sitting in the Sleeping Dragon Inn in Mistria and getting some work done.

Whoops, the Little Library on my walk yesterday convinced me I didnt already have a copy of Ender’s game. So now I have two. Guess I should probably finally read it, at this point 😅

I can never find a gif of the mom from 7th Heaven saying she's done pot, and that is a true shame. It would come in useful a lot more often than you'd think.

God bless a gay bar, where else besides my own home am I going to have a beer while Sneakernight by Vanessa Hudgens blares across the speakers

I’m so tired of getting political fundraising spam texts from other states. You don’t even represent me, I have almost no idea who you are. I’ve unsubscribed from Talarico’s text fundraising like 10 times, at this point.

Someone get this to Carly’s team stat. I’m gay, she’ll want to hear from me.

Listen, Carly Rae Jepsen has GOT to make a new version of the Tonight I’m Getting Over You remix without Nicki Minaj. A Cardi B version would blow it out of the water.

When they asked if I wanted my beer a regular or a large, it was an easy choice. I was unfamiliar with the scope of “large” lol

It’s a very strange, bittersweet moment to find hairs from my late dog Luna on things I haven’t worn in a while. Memories of when she was here, reminders that she’s gone. I miss her a lot.

Loving being able to pretty easily drop and pose my character skin into scenes, too. I've loved my Etherscout skin, and getting to include it in the book is a fun nod to the amount of #Minecraft time I've spent with it since starting this project

Definitely not the final versions of these, I think I'm going to shift my approach and use a vanilla world instead of my superflat template world

Luke 🌙 @graycastlepress.com · 28/08/2026

This point of book design, where I'm quickly iterating and playing with the presentation of the art, is one of my favorite parts of the process. Shifting around how the Specialization spread artwork will look, and this full page presentation is going to make the builds a bit easier

Luke 🌙 @graycastlepress.com · 27/08/2026

Also neat to think of what else I might do with this ability to export builds into Blender, and how that might feed into the Waywright book and other marketing stuff.

010

Luke 🌙 @graycastlepress.com · 27/08/2026

I've been playing with how these will be presented in the book, and finding more ways to use the Etherscouts purple against the green. I just can't get enough. Being able to build pieces like this for the book (allowed for in Minecraft's Usage Guidelines) is going to change the design a LOT.

Luke 🌙 @graycastlepress.com · 27/08/2026

Been having a lot of fun doing some small diorama-style builds in #Minecraft for some of the book pieces in my work-in-progress game. Build in Minecraft, pull into Blender, get nicely set up and rendered. Works pretty smoothly, and I was pretty proud of the purple glow I added to the portal

Doing some design work for Waywright, and learning how to make these little standalone diorama style builds using Mineways and Blender. I'm sure there's a LOT that this kind of setup would enable, just figuring the basic workflow out so far.

Update, I've started adding things to Memories and I really like it. I have Artifact memories, where it's something like a eulogy I wrote, and them Narrative memories, where it's me describing the day of the funeral and the things that stand out to me. Really gives me a place to record it all!

Spent some of my Mistrian hours this weekend pulling together a list of solo tabletop games that give some of the same cozy game vibes. Iron Valley, particularly, looks like something I'll be checking out ASAP to get some of those deeper farm sim mechanics in a solo #TTRPG.

Up to 76% of the public Internet scanned, almost 5 billion pages. Got a loooooot of data to parse through, a lot of Terry Pratchett’s name

Rarely am I as disappointed in my teeth as a collective part of my body as I am in the minutes between “finishing a corn on the cob” and “making it to some floss”

I’ll be doing something cool with the data once I’ve cleaned and enriched it a bit. If you want to know more about these memorials for the internet’s honored dead inspired by Terry Pratchett, I did a write up and built a free chrome extension around them

I've officially parsed through almost 60% of the entire public internet's worth of webpages, almost 4 BILLION webpages available in the most recent Common Crawl archive. Some really interesting findings for the usage of the Terry Pratchett-inspired x-clacks-overhead HTTP header internet-wide

Zeus in "God Games" from the Epic musical is such a dick. Zeus: "Let's play a game, convince any one of the other gods Odysseus should be released, and I'll release him." Athena: convinces all of them with style. Zeus: Haha jk ⚡️⚡️⚡️

For the most part it’s just to avoid having a folder for every year, especially as I trial whether this recording of memories will “stick” I can add all memory notes to the one folder and use a Base to display them grouped by year

010

Luke 🌙 @graycastlepress.com · 10/08/2026

Really interesting, I think adding a Memories type to my vault is a nice addition and addressed some of my desire for a way to capture those things as they come to mind. I think I’ll use a “year” property versus subfolders, to stay in line with my structure, but a really nice add! Thanks!

100

Luke 🌙 @graycastlepress.com · 10/08/2026

What kinds of things do you keep in each years folders? Records of what happened that year? A memories folder is a really neat idea. Things for future me to look back on and remember what that year was like. More actual “journal” than “daily note”

110

Luke 🌙 @graycastlepress.com · 10/08/2026

I’ve also never quite spent as much time curating and experimenting with something as much as I have my knowledge repo, my second brain.

130

Luke 🌙 @graycastlepress.com · 10/08/2026

I do think that’s a good reminder to myself to take the time to record more than just my creative stuff, or my “productive” notes. Worth considering how little bit more context would change future me’s experience with what I leave for them.

130

Luke 🌙 @graycastlepress.com · 10/08/2026

I think that when I die my Obsidian vault will probably be the best approximation of a record of my life that I’ll leave behind. It’s a panoramic view of years of my life. The things I’ve chosen to record. More journal entries than any physical one I’ve ever kept.

Picking featured images for my blog articles (the rare ones I actually write) is always something I forget about and don't enjoy. So instead I added a function to my Wordpress theme that just creates a social-ready image of the blog article's title as a styled headline.

Still really love the Chrome Extension I made that shows the memorials to the honored dead that people include in the headers of their websites. Always so amazing to see Sir Terry Pratchett's work continuing to echo and inspire in new ways. Gone too soon. GNU Terry Pratchett

I've enjoyed being challenged by the difficulty, too. Hard gating on Pokemon leveling and more intelligent gym leader lineups and battle decisions mean you can't just sort of storm through. Struggling with a Fighting-type gym that uses dual types to fend off types strong against Fighting.
