All nonhuman animal use involves violating the basic right-not to be the property of others-of another individual. Please go vegan and respect the rights of all sentient beings.

It’s always a beautiful sight when the fog makes its way up the side of the mountain, taking time to rest at the sanctuary before continuing on.

Please align your actions with your beliefs, which is by going vegan and refusing to consume, wear, and use animals and recognizing their right not to be property.

Graybloom Farm Sanctuary @graybloomsanctuary.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

If you agree with the statement that causing harm and death to animals for no good reason is wrong, then you believe in being vegan since all uses of nonhuman animals are unnecessary.

Having participated in ending the lives of innocent beings to use their bodies as objects and also paying others to use their bodies for our interests is something that still haunts our minds.

Graybloom Farm Sanctuary @graybloomsanctuary.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Growing up, like the majority of people, we were taught that nonhuman animals were ours to eat, wear, and use. In addition to this, I was also brought up in a household that hunted animals, mainly deer.

100

Graybloom Farm Sanctuary @graybloomsanctuary.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Whenever we see deer this time of year, it is a reminder that this might be their last year before their lives are unnecessarily ended for the pleasure and entertainment of others.

Graybloom Farm Sanctuary @graybloomsanctuary.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Among those free-living animals are deer that we sometimes see early in the morning or later in the evening eating, playing, and resting in the fields or by the edge of the woods near the creek.

Graybloom Farm Sanctuary @graybloomsanctuary.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Over the last few years of living here, there have been several different free-living animals, such as armadillos, skunks, birds, turtles, snakes, etc., that either call this place home or use it as a resting place before they venture on.

Graybloom Farm Sanctuary @graybloomsanctuary.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Fall is finally here and with it brings a mixture of emotions. Being my favorite time of the year, Samantha’s not so much, it’s also the start of hunting season for deer.

Veganism is a philosophy of justice and peace; the recognition and respect of the basic moral right of nonhuman animals not to be used as property, because they are sentient beings who have moral value, and a peace movement that opposes violence against all sentient beings. Live vegan.

Graybloom Farm Sanctuary @graybloomsanctuary.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

To use nonhuman animals for food, entertainment, clothing, domestication, etc., is to commit injustice against them by violating their most basic right of not being the property of others. Go vegan.

Graybloom Farm Sanctuary @graybloomsanctuary.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

It’s that time of the year when the goat residents spend some of their day perusing the fields for acorns that have fallen from the oak trees.

Graybloom Farm Sanctuary @graybloomsanctuary.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Being vegan is the least we owe to nonhuman animals, anything less than vegan is violating the rights of sentient beings to live in peace.

Graybloom Farm Sanctuary @graybloomsanctuary.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

It took parts of Saturday and Sunday, but we eventually got the container filled with hay. This should last us through the winter and until we cut the fields again next summer for hay.

110

Graybloom Farm Sanctuary @graybloomsanctuary.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Maypop likes to tag along and keep us company while we transport old hay from the stalls. If you believe nonhuman animals have moral value, i.e., value their life even if no one else does, then you have a moral obligation to go vegan.

Syrup took time out of his morning climb to admire his surroundings. To use nonhuman animals for food, entertainment, clothing, domestication, etc. is to commit injustice against them by violating their most basic right of not being the property of others.

this planet we call home. We should be working towards dismantling oppressive systems, not embracing them, so that we can bring about a better world for all, regardless of an individual’s race, gender identity, sexual orientation, place of origin, species, etc.

Our current setup for dealing with bumblefoot isn’t ideal, but we plan on upgrading it to make it less stressful for the chickens. Being vegan is the least we owe to nonhuman animals, anything less than vegan is violating the right of sentient beings to live in peace.

We can’t thank our friends at Good Sprout Rescue and Sanctuary enough for the guidance on how best to help Claudio and Vivi. We saw a great deal of improvement yesterday with both of their feet and are expecting a full recovery soon.

This past week has been very busy for us. One of the things we’ve been dealing with is our first couple of cases of bumblefoot with Claudio and Vivi. Every day we’ve been making sure to take multiple steps to ensure their feet and bandages are clean.

By going vegan, you are rejecting violence and actively refusing to partake in the use and violation of the rights of other sentient beings.

If you are a supporter or follower of ours and not vegan, please know the most crucial thing you can do to help nonhuman animals is not by donating to us, other sanctuaries, or “animal rights” organizations, but by going vegan.

How effective would any social justice campaign be if, instead of advocating for justice and equality, it advocated reformed methods of exploitation as much of the ‘animal’ movement does with it’s call for better welfare while animals continued to be bred, used for profit and killed”

How diluted and ineffective their activism would have been if the call to abstain from sugar had been advertised as a healthy diet instead of the rights of slaves to be free?

100

Graybloom Farm Sanctuary @graybloomsanctuary.bsky.social · 29/06/2026

Just as the animal rights movement calls for a boycott on all animal use and all animal products, the anti-slavery movement advocated boycotting products of slavery such as sugar.

Would you recommend encouraging people to ‘try out’ being anti-racist, or engage in a ’31 day challenge’ to end gender violence?

100

Graybloom Farm Sanctuary @graybloomsanctuary.bsky.social · 29/06/2026

Would you advocate that we reduce rather than eliminate racism in the way that reducetarians advocate for consuming less animal products rather than respecting their rights and ending all use of other animals?

100

Graybloom Farm Sanctuary @graybloomsanctuary.bsky.social · 29/06/2026

would you consider advocating for them using the same tactics that the ‘vegan’ or ‘animal’ movement has used? Would you, for a start, almost completely eliminate the victims from your advocacy efforts?

When you think of other social justice issues– women’s rights, the civil rights movement, food insecurity and world hunger, climate change, environmental destruction, the plight of refugees, LGBTQ+ rights, war etc,…
