I'm not at all kidding when I say I don't know how anyone could root for another team. The amount of slapstick hijinks that comes out of that team is like a successful season of the Office.

“It’s good to see you,” he said after a reporter for The New York Times rang his doorbell. He was wearing a dark suit and a red tie. “I’ll talk to you next week,” he said. “Thank you.” (His) wife, Rhonda, stood in the background, smiling pleasantly. He declined additional comment and closed the door

AI is really good at taking over the parts of your business that you want to be sloppy and error-riddled. Oh, you don't have any of those?

Everyone should be using AI tools deeply so they understand how much of what they're interacting with is cheap shit produced by AI.

I've been thinking of the irony of X's AI bot being named Grok, since the meaning of that word, as created in "Stranger in a Strange Land" by Heinlein, was to understand a subject so deeply it changes you, and you change it. AI is basically the opposite.

What i've learned from AI is that writing is such a valuable part of thinking. Part of writing is surprise at what you know, and how it fits together. "Clear writing is clear thinking" works both ways. You're helping yourself think. You can't ask Claude to do that.

In the age of AI, the maxim that attention is love seems ever more fitting. Taking the time to do a job and truly internalize it is and will be the last bastion of human work.

Last year Utah House of Rep. Speaker, Mike Schultz, bought a 640 acre parcel of land in Box Elder County about 3 miles from the northern boundary of the proposed Stratos project. Maybe a coincidence but we are talking about an area Gov Cox thought was perfect for Stratos because no one lives there.

I saw the last showing of any Sundance movie in Utah last night in Park City. A sad ending to a much-needed influx of culture into the state. Over the years, I discovered a lot of strange movies, went to some wild parties and hung out with the Black Eyed Peas. RIP Utah Sundance.
