I keep thinking - oh yeah I'll do something creative that's not involving working on my 3D Father model, and then I happen to just open Blender to take a peak at him and whoops, where did the time go. It's been a cycle of "oh gosh this is so much work" and "this is fun nitpicking about everything!"

Thinking of the hair in 3D was a challenge, but I've been wanting to tackle that for a while. Still gotta connect the pony tail pieces and then model the inside of the mouth before the rigging. The feet are still as they were before...not certain I want to model them fully for this version.

More progress! Father has some quickly slapped together textures and poked at the shaders to make him look a little better. I don't know what kind of style I want to go for exactly, so I'm just getting something set up and then will mess with that later.

Two screenshots from Blender of my OC Father's model progress. This first image is from a 3/4 angle. He's now got textures kinda on him, and messed with some shaders in Blender to make him look better, kinda.

continue? [y/n]

A pixel art vignette of Okami- a frail-looking, orange-haired inumimi (dog boy) sitting down haphazardly, leaning next to an easel. He is wearing a white dress shirt, a green jacket, black shorts and long black leggings, all dotted with paint splatters.

The easel has one sheet of torn paper on it, draped here and there with spiderwebs as if it hasn't been used in a while. Okami looks off to the side as he is surrounded by his own incomplete art, a paintbrush slowly falling out of his hands.

There are words in the shadow next to him that reads 'if only...'

For the pixel daily theme 'wistful'.

It has a small cat mouth, two small triangular red horns poking out of the top of its hat, two tall dark eyes with small pale orange light reflection at the top, black floppy round ears with blue inside, three white claws on its feet, a long tapering tail with a pale yellow underside and green red-tipped fluff at the tip. The background consists of yellow, pink, and blue broad brush strokes. There's a pink star with a neutral face in the top right corner.

Been spending my time very wisely learning how to make a 3D model of Father for maybe VTubing (or at least animating/posing). Been generally following tutorials but after getting 95% of the head done today I skipped the eyeballs & eyebrows, half did the hair so I could poke at the clothing!
