Why is everyone treating Burnham as the second coming? He has announced a tweak to the triple lock in 2030 ( reducing projected increases) which cannot pay for his social care policy, and wants PR that will give nutters like Farage and Polanski huge power. Meanwhile we sit and wait for 3 years?

I was working in Stoke during the Referendum- happily back in Yorkshire- and in that area at least I can say this is bollocks. If you live in a 'city' where prospects are limited, where the industry in that area is in the potteries museum and you are skint you have 'nothing to lose' voting leave.

New from me: Britain’s graduate earnings premium is falling, cue “too many go to university!” But non-university outcomes are also bad, cue “we must reform vocational routes!” Both miss the point: people used to think education drove economic outcomes, but the economy drives educational outcomes.
