Just finished updating Reps & Sets for iPhone Duo, and it’s looking pretty nice! Will you be buying one?

For over a decade, Adobe put "(Legacy)" after "Save for Web..." in Photoshop because they were trying to make "Export As..." happen. Now they've finally caved, and even given Save for Web a nice update.

Hmm - the icons weren't square, except in the Dock, just like NeXTSTEP. However, app icons had their own unique backgrounds for when they appeared in the Dock. Mail got a cloudy background in its square. The toolbar icons had squircle jail!

I'm not sure about this new "Pride" brand and watch face for Apple Watch. The colors don't look right. They're not the six colors of the original pride flag. Nor are they the 11 colors of the Progress Pride Flag. It's Pride on the downlow.

Apple Watch promo shot, featuring the new Pride Band and Pride watch face. The band colors are lime green, red, navy, brown, and white. The watch face colors are coral, lime green, navy, purple, and a bit of brown.

The Raspberry Reich would like their revolution back.

Still from the Bruce LaBruce movie The Raspberry Reich, with revolutionary leader Gudrun explaining something to her minions. The caption reads: No revolution without sexual revolution. No sexual revolution without homosexual revolution.

I spent all the long weekend creating a Live Activity for my app, Reps & Sets. Sweated all the details of the Dynamic Island 🤓

I spent a couple of hours today figuring out how to move the Account button on my iPad app to the bottom of the side bar, to match Apple's apps. A change probably no one except me will notice. But it makes me happy!

Screenshot of the iPad version of Reps & Sets. The account button is pinned to the bottom of the side bar, in the bottom left-hand corner.

New episode of my podcast, Apple Core, is out now. This episode is about the history of podcasting from the 90s "push" tech bubble and how Apple embraced standards by adding podcast support to iTunes. We consider if today's Apple would make the same move. podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/a...

Star Fleet Academy is set over 800 years after Star Trek TNG. It's bizarre it looks so similar, and they remember the names of people from so long ago. In our time, 800 years ago we're talking Genghis Khan.

I made my annual Roscón de Reyes - a Spanish tradition for Epiphany. This one turned out pretty good, though I say so myself.

A freshly baked roscón de reyes, just out of the oven, cooling off on grease proof paper. It's a very large, shareable, donut-shaped backed citrus bun, decorated with dried fruit, almonds, and pearl sugar.

Taglab es ahora una empresa española. Y, por supuesto, Reps & Sets también hablará español. Taglab is a Spanish company now. So, naturally, Reps & Sets will also be available in Spanish.

In the CultCast this week, @dgriffinjones.bsky.social discussed lanyards potentially coming to iPhone (via a case), and Apple's history with lanyards. Here, from my extensive iPod collection, is the original iPod shuffle and nano with lanyards.

I can't stop looking at this Enterprise bridge set. Its design so perfectly fits between the TOS and TNG aesthetics. I love it. gizmodo.com/star-trek-ph...

Bridge of the Enterprise made for a 70s reboot of Star Trek that never happened. Cool colors, soft lighting, and curvilinear forms with echos of both the original bridge and what was to come.

It's carnival in Barcelona this weekend. But we're celebrating Swedish style with home-baked semlor. (Will be doing British pancakes on Tuesday, natch.)

Four buns on a plate. They're traditional Swedish semlor, glazed round buns, dusted with icing sugar, with the tops cut off, filled with almond paste and whipped cream.
