I saw on a bike thread here about using those metallic insulated mailing envelopes to keep your hands warm while biking. You cut them and mount them to the bike handles so your hands go inside and it blocks the wind.

Or the person screaming because they were being murdered on that Ohio Players song in the 70s.

I think you’re right- not the plague but chicken pox maybe? Not sure.

That looks great! I’ll look for it.

I love those stories. I had books of Anderson and Grimm with the most gruesome endpapers.

No worries and cheers! I was thinking more an overview of how gruesome kids are so that works 🙌

I think that one was particularly dark!

Reading an excellent book about Highland Folk Tales by Bob Pegg that includes this passage ⬇️ and so got me wondering what other playground rhymes are from folklore? We had Lizzy Borden which was gruesome in a very matter of fact way for 8 year olds.

I’m quite amazed there aren’t more Aurora photos for #sharemondays2026 but it’s all I have this week. Revisited an old location after the best of the display had passed. Interesting to see how much it has changed in ten years. #photography #landscapephotography #photographers
