I was a reporter (in Seattle) in the 90s and newspapers then were making good profits, the internet had not destroyed class ad revenue yet. We had expense accounts and if your editor was good you could convince them to send you on expensive trips. But the storyline isn't plausible, it's Hollywood. 🙂

Eye to eye with a redtailed hawk on this morning’s five-mile ramble. #Hiking #Birding #GetOutside #AltText

A large hawk is perched on a mossy limb of a dead willow and looking down right at the camera with its piercing eyes. Its breast and underside is a buff white with pretty rusty brown speckles across the breast. It has a curved and sharp beak, yellow near its face and sort of olive gray on the bend and point. You can see a sharp talon, and its tail below the limb.
