Interrested in many subjects with facts in them. Netzero progress. anti-nuclear activity = anti-climate

I think that a great example of what people see trough now, that if you take science seriously, you have to do it for everything. Less nonsense.

Very fearmongering piece, purposefully blurring the line of nuclear from science to military.

Fearmongering and Anti-nuclear did a lot against the climate, we wouldn't in such a large climate issue as today.

Kilopower a micro reactor that has been worked for atleast a decade under different names. Berillium reflection reactor with carbon parts and heat pipes to drive sterling engines for electricity. Ps: moon is dark for 14 days.

Indeed it doesn't for half the time 14 days. And it's very cold.

Because you can inform yourself trough science-based dat and understand, the fear is irrational.

Lcoe is a false definer to use between different energy types. And completely a nogo on variable versus demand driven capacity. The grid recipe only works optimal with a balanced set of ingredients.

For those semi-enviromentalists*, that still exclude nuclear. Change your mindset.

For 3x to 4x the longevity and much higher capacity factor.

Nuclear isn't a chemical energy. It's magnitude more effecient and it doesn't emmit.

Not to mention those stable energy sources are are also heat sources we need for industry. Wind solar are nice for displacement. Replacement is a step beyond that.

Radical no and why. It's finished and will be used for permanent storage. Also many ways to recycle and repurpuse spend fuel. It's much more a resource then an end product.

That doesn't really explain how and why enough. There is almost zero CO2 capture equipment integration. The infrastructure to transfer. And as last the gigantic location to store this aren't ready. Secondary we might want to use ccs for the difficult industries that need to decarbonise. Concrete

My comments: This puts first-of-a-kind new nuclear as CHEAPER than offshore wind in one of the best areas for offshore wind in the world: the North Sea. The Dutch government is currently preparing a tender where it’ll offer up to €114 per MWh (indexed to 2025) for IJmuiden Ver Gamma-B, a plot […]

Sure they can there also invest in gasplants and to convert them to hydrogen. Yet that wasn't the article, you missed that it's a European investment figure. Where they benefit from other countries including nuclear under netzero for 2040 goals.

blabla, is it helping the climate goals, Yes. is it increasing while you say it has no value, Yes. So it's natural to include it in the sustainable goals of the EU instead of excluding it! As per starting topic.

What numbers, you're probalby talk about percentages, not TWh. And then some ad hominen, valued addition to my point I guess! As for the numbers: In 2025 nuclear plants supplied 2702 TWh of electricity, up from 2667 TWh in 2024. Highest number ever, even with the German Climate Sabotage of 24GW!

That's nonsense, you can keep repeating it. The climate accords demand it. And the growing coalition of countries that go for atleast a tripling of capacity are pushing ahead. Without nuclear for electricity and industrial scale heat/steam we will not achieve netzero.

Terrapower - Bechtel. How it was brought by anti-nuclear was as if the project was given up and dead. It's a bump, finding a new contractor for remaining work. Much has been done and will, terrapower keeps to there schedule. www.world-nuclear-news.org/articles/bec...

Helium or CO² can be used in those graphite moderated designs. The gas is used as the first loop for temperature transfer towards the second loop and or steam generators. Britain still has some gas cooled reactors. And there are new 4th gen reactors that are going for gascooled designs.
