Kiyo raises her fists and glares at someone off-camera.

Kiyo brings her fist back, preparing for a devastating punch. The moon glows faintly in the dark sky.

Kiyo bumps her head against Genzui's. Maybe it's her way of apologizing for leaving him bloody and winded.

Kiyo relaxes before a small shrine. A sprawled-out cat gazes up at her. Both Kiyo's and the cat's eyes are bright yellow.

Kiyo responds with denial. She can't be their hero, much less her own. She doesn't deserve the title. She can't disappoint another clan.

Daizo says her family would have been proud of her. Not only did she save his village - his own family - but she also proved there's still honor in her actions.

Daizo replies slowly: whether she wants his opinion or not, she will never disappoint him.

Finally, Kiyo acknowledges the kid's compliments with a hesitant "thank you". But, she'd rather he save his praises for the right shinobi. Off-screen, someone calls for Kiyo.

A scarred man with unkempt hair requests a word with her. He gives her a tired smile. He wears a large fur cloak.

Daizo speaks to her calmly, reassuring Kiyo that she can accept the praise as genuine. She did save his village, his home, his people. She turned the tides in their favor.

Kiyo had the choice to leave the village to their own devices, but she stayed and helped, anyway. Someone seemingly self-serving and grouchy can be the hero, even just for a day. Daizo sees past her mask.

(november 2025) the right shinobi 1/3 #ocsky #oc

A child approaches Kiyo.

The kid regards her with awe, praising her for being the hero who saved his village.

Kiyo, uncomfortable, makes a face and tries to dismiss his claims.

The kid persists, going on about how she killed many Fiends with ease. Kiyo sinks into her scarf.
