In EDH, I normally build my decks with a good number of 1 or 2 mana creatures so I can take early aggro actions. My play group tends to turtle a lot so being the aggressor at the table often leaves me looking like a threat.

To expand on this, a lot of attacks will have an audible schwing you can hear before the attack actually starts that can be a reliable tell.

I have a similarly controversial build for homeboy using the Deuliso and just spamming free aim shots and base attacks and then getting counters off over and over. The number of buffs you can give yourself with free aim and debuffs from base attacks is crazy.

What i found is that a lot of attacks have audio queues or visual queues that indicate when the parry window has opened, so I relied on that a lot.
