Finally, got a nice, working ship map editor that supports multiple decks, etc. Love it. If you wanna use it, just get access to loreframe alpha. loreframe.app?utm_source=b...

Making it so that maps can have multiple decks built in. Looks a bit jank right now, but its getting there. loreframe.app

Turns out that adding style presets is kind of a mess when... my CSS is a mess. HOW COULD I HAVE KNOWN!? Nobody warned me. Madness. Well, now Loreframe has a few style presets, but I'm holding off on more until I really clean up the CSS. For my sanity. My favorite preset is Vile Banana.
A style preset with a light theme, charcoal panel header and map backgrounds, and black text with pink text for highlights. A style preset with a dark theme, black panel and map backgrounds, blue text with yellow text for headers and text highlights. A style preset with a dark theme, with teal body text and hot pink buttons/highlight text.

While I've had icons for the maps in loreframe.app for a while, they were not exactly the style I was looking for. I really wanted to stick to SVG icons and really make it look like a retro map with symbols and a legend. So I came up with a framework and then threw together a sample. Check it out!
A infographic showing off various shapes which will be used to identify entities on a map. The outer shape (circles, squares, triangles) are used to identify the entity type, while the symbol inside of it defines the subtype. Further attachments (shapes attached to the border or outside of the shape) further define functionality, such as ships with weapons, or science modules.

For GM's, a world-building app needs to not only make it easy and fun to create awesome worlds, but also to prep for running sessions with their friends. I just added tool to Loreframe that lets gm's print out session prep! loreframe.app?utm_source=b...
Image of a retro teletype inspired document with references to multiple characters, solar systems, and locations as well as information for those entities. A detailed dossier on a space ship. A printed page overview of the ttrpg session, including notes and some tables with information. A printout of a solar system map including several planets, a asteroid belt, and a gm note section.

I'm not saying your gm world-building tools needs to track planetary orbital positions over time throughout the campaign but.... it does in loreframe.app

Adding some map viewing and zoom ability to the terminal in my ttrpg world-building app loreframe.app . Gotta add some clunky "Enhance" sfx.

Gave the timeline editor a glowup. GM's running TTRPG games will be able to make player facing and GM Only events, to remind them of what's happening in the game world (or session) as time progresses! Sign up for alpha at loreframe.app

My TTRPG world building app loreframe.app is almost ready for alpha. If you want sometime tailor made for worldbuilding sci-fi campaigns, and also has a really cool terminal app that players can explore and learn about your world with, goooooo sign up.

Look, I'm not saying your sci-fi game needs a hidden volcano lair map. Buttttt........ loreframe.app Sign up for the alpha and you too can make rad maps in my world-building app.

More work on the topographic map generator. Now we have hero landmarks (mountains, craters, etc.), meta features (mountain ranges, etc.), the ability to control min/max elevation, ocean levels, etc. You'll be able to get maps like this in my world-building tool loreframe.app

My ttrpg world building app loreframe.app has a modern web interface for GMs to edit maps for their sci-fi ttrpg setting. Solar system maps include orbital mechanics too!

When players are exploring your world lore, why should they get access to it all at once? Give them the access their characters would have to a computer system. But show them the redaction so they know they are missing something, and want to hunt. loreframe.app

Claude Code Desktop's latest update pins your last message (no matter how long) to the top of the viewport. How did the person implementing this not immediately get punched by the nearest UI/UX designer, or anyone who had even tried it once?
An image of the Claude Code Desktop application, mostly blurred out, with a red box taking up approximately half the output view area representing the users last pinned message. Dumb.

Some work on my rappeller. It lets the user attach themselves to the ship and rappel down into the clouds. Right now you can place it and interact with it, where it will then move your character into the rappelling position.

Added building restrictions to #overcloud so you have to be careful about planning your ship out and where to place engines and helm, etc. That way you don't have the engine exhaust plowing right into the back of your ship. On second thought... maybe I should just make materials flammable. 🔥 😐 🔥

Quick construction of ship equipment, and a drive around the #overcloud area while sheltering from the storm in the cabin, which occludes weather audio.

#OvercloudGame When exploring the world in their skyship, the player will often have to rappel down below the clouds in order to explore the Undercloud and find lost technologies and blueprints to expand their building tools. The Undercloud is not a safe place. Getting lost can spell your doom.

GorillaOne @gorillatactics.com · 04/02/2025
In Overcloud, the player flies a skyship that they construct themselves through various landscapes, exploring and finding new ways to adapt their ship to new environments.

Added a new system 🖥️that lets the player interact with a Ship System ⛵ (helm, computer, engine, etc.) and the users controls will change based on what they are interacting with. Just looks like the players sliding into place, but its a lot more!

Some hot progress on my game‼️ A player built ship hovering over the ☁️Overcloud☁️ in a lightning storm. And a red light below? Not everything in the world is friendly. ⚠️

Instead of having to use pre-set pieces to fill in the gaps in your structure, I'm creating a fill tool which lets you choose two beams and it will fill in between them.

I'm making a game. It's not named right now. But it involves surfing on clouds. Marshmelloy clouds.
