I consider myself to be as Scottish as it is possible to be (the vast majority of the folks in my family tree being from Scottish towns & villages) but my Ancestry DNA results show that there’s about 28% of my makeup that’s Irish and I’m 2% German and 2% Dutch. Can I lay claim to all of these lands?

So this hijacked plane from yesterday… One pilot stabs another and, presumably renders him unable to fly the plane, the other pilot is the aggressor and he’s overpowered by passengers, but there’s a third pilot onboard who is able to land the plane? Three pilots on a short haul flight?

I remember when there were ‘gasometers’ all over the country. Now I don’t know of any. Presumably, they were used to store gas. Who privatised these national assets, and left them in the hands of a private, profit-focussed company that dismantled them all? #c4news

BBC Reporting Scotland has a big story about Labour’s commitment to British shipbuilding, with a yard in Methil a front runner. They mentioned that it’s part of a Spanish shipbuilding outfit, but not that said outfit is owned by the Spanish state. What happened to our own state-owned shipbuilding?
