2. Conservatives ignore the sad reality that locally elected school boards favor spending on extracurricular bells and whistles. Meanwhile, our daughter sends out a list each August of books, supplies (pencils, erasers, and so on), and other “nonessentials” 🙄 that we contribute to.

2. I mailed him the opinion and asked if successfuly litigating this case might help me in applying to teach. The answer was no. If I had written up my brief as a law review article that would get me noticed. Thus began my career as an adjunct teaching law to undergrads.

1. I always wanted to teach and early on in my legal career I got very lucky and won a lawsuit against the state judges in Genesee County changing the constitutional law in Michigan. We called a U of M law professor as an expert witness.
