The decline and fall of american democracy started in 1783, precisely because of this. It is by luck that most of the people chosen to run this joint are at least not narcissists so some good things have happened.

It is hard to conceive of cruelty and depravity until it is laid bate for all to see. Madame la guillotine is thirsty and she must be satiated.

And they proudly display that violence, because they believe others are aroused by it. These people, like hegseth, are irredemable.

I think they truly believe that their ideology is shared much more broadly than it is. Publicizing the particular execution is a choice. A repugnant choice. They revel in the gore. I have seen it on the battlefield. They find the dismemberment of bodies entertaining and comforting.

I should have known they were doing this for a pr stunt when it hit yesterday, but the depravity increases.

Sad dude in a chair @goolz.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
Nothing about this should be what it is. The publicization makes it worse.

Back in NoMA & Union Station this weekend! Saw lots folks, passed out hygiene kits, Narcan, snacks, electrolyte packs, & water. DC is getting cold & we’ll start bringing cold weather gear soon. Help us keep rolling & stock up! CashApp: $RemoraHouseDC & more ways to donate linked in our bio!
A rolling cart with a hand painted sign hanging from it that says “remora house dc mutual aid” is filled with distro supplies and sits in front of a metal sculpture in a small park.

I feel like when buying parts we must first ask "what is tie rod."

I have a 1995 c1500 with moog ball joints and u joint bearings that i put in 6 years ago, 70k miles, loading 2000 lb+ loads into on a regular, on Baltimore roads. Most pre-2009 American trucks have WWII level engineering (complimentary) that can be fixed by a farmer with a torch and a hammer.

Sad dude in a chair @goolz.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
You are putting parts on a 3200 dollar XJ to drive around and maybe take a trail. As is, it could probably do moab before rattling apart, and it could probably limp to a shop on fire roads with a simple repair if the tie rods did break.

Cut to 2009 harmony central forums where people were creaming over a 1500 overdrive pedal and a 5000 dollar amp to sound like steven segal's records.

There should also be a number of GM/delco parts that are bolt on on those. I know that a lot of chassis parts are interchangable between the G body, or S/T trucks.

the voucher program discussed in the article was created specifically for students with disabilities but before that? in the american context, private school vouchers became popular as a way of resisting school desegregation. that should always be part of the conversation about vouchers!!

Are there any studies, nhtsa or otherwise, on what ADAS systems decrease collisions and which ones are less effective at improving driver safety?

Treaty of shimonoseki, which was 1895, ceded taiwan to japan, and further entrenched Japan into korea and manchuria. I'd argue that east asian collapse started around the 1790s as the british gained a foothold in bengal and burma, which in turn led to the opium wars, but we have to start somewhere.

Sad dude in a chair @goolz.bsky.social · 05/09/2026
The invasion of manchuria in 1932 is a better mark for my money, but that can be run back to the annexation of korea in 1910 or the treaty of shimonoseki if we want to go deep.

I know there are some physiomechanical reasons why one feels better than the other for most people. I can lift more conventional but sumo feels easier. I think it has something to do with hip position for most people and wanting to use quads for a deadlift.

Everytime I post about this I have to clarify this point. No. They don't like him because he provides clicks, or "easy content" or ratings. They like him because they agree with him. They think he's a good President and like his policies and want to help him take even more power.

This is the logic of prohibition, which we know doesnt work. Its not about redistricting, its about eminent domain. Its about abolition. Take away water rights, progressively allocate resources. Water available to those in need, unattainable at scale.

Sad dude in a chair @goolz.bsky.social · 18/08/2026
Restrictions have to be implemented on every level of the supply chain, and the only way to do that is to restrict things at the most primal levels, because it takes so long to recover a water supply or regrow a tree or animal population.

Sad dude in a chair @goolz.bsky.social · 18/08/2026
In fact, this is to an extent what CITES does currently for exotic animal and plant materials. To the extent where its extremely difficult to even travel with certain end products, regardless of the level of "value add"

Sad dude in a chair @goolz.bsky.social · 18/08/2026
The second order conflict is therefore a response to how to conserce the resource. Your answer is to regulate the market, mine is to remove the market. If the water is restricted to the point where feed cannot be grown, there is no need to impose export restrictions.

Sad dude in a chair @goolz.bsky.social · 18/08/2026
Ok, ill bite: is the problem the allocation of the resource, the depletion of the resource, the price of the product, or the regulation of the market? In what im saying, the primary problem is the depletion of the resource, which i think you would agree with.

River water use should be owned by the state and metered according to social priorities. Sure ban the exporting but that doesnt stop the issue.

The celestiq and the corvette are beautiful and well engineeres. They have been making some of the best and most ubiquitous engines since at least 1955. They sell more pickup trucks than ford by a large margin, but split between two makes. Everything bad about them comes from capitalism.
