I now understand the Choosin’ Texas hype. It's her inflections that are completely mesmerizing.

How high up on the list of baseball movies should The Naked Gun be?

So far we've had: vampires shape shifters demons (but maybe not, might've been fake) Sam said werewolves and others things exist as well dumb humans

This show is great by the way. It's some sort of perfect weird mix of campy, comedy, horror, drama and action.

I've always thought that McNulty in The Wire had the best sex scenes on HBO. Jason Stackhouse makes Jimmy look like an amateur. My goodness.

In honor of spooky season, I'm giving True Blood a first time watch.

Really good series (aside from the gross feet kissing thing) Absolute masterclass by Jude Law.

The Haunted Mansion = C+ It had it's moments.

Suspicion = A- It was probably an A+ when it came out EIGHTY-FIVE years ago. I had to subtract a little bit for ol' boy coming up with the pet name "Monkeyface" for ol' girl. (And then using it about 50 more times)

So I'm watching The Young Pope on HBO. Is foot kissing a thing with Pope's? I don't care if it's the Pope or Taylor Swift, I ain't kissing anybody's damn foot.

Matilda = A+ Matilda was adorable. Trunchbull was terrifying. Miss Honey was aptly named.

An American Werewolf in London = B / B+ My favorite scenes: - the nightmares - the undead - the transformation - entire closing scene

An American Werewolf in London I'm only like 30 minutes in but we need to talk about David - bad mouthing his best friend's girl - ran away when his best friend was being attacked - committed sexual assault on the nurse - had sex in the shower (never have sex in the shower) - is a fucking werewolf

I was thinking about giving True Blood a first time watch for spooky season but 80 episodes is quite the commitment. Worth it?

Lanterns Just finished it. I found it quite enjoyable even though I'm far from convinced I totally understood it. Damon Lindelof shows will do that to you.

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby = A+ That first time they had grace at the dinner table. 😂 LOVED the "Faithfully" restaurant scene. Everything Gary Cole touches turns to gold. The cougar car was super cool. Great soundtrack.

Rambo = B+ That first 35 minutes or so was some of the most intense evil violence I've ever seen in a movie. I was actually getting real life angry. I guess it worked well though because it made the comeuppance at the end all the more glorious.

Don't Breathe = A+ That is one sick, twisted, truly scary horror movie. Perfect for spooky season.

Constantine = B- / B More Keanu Reeves chaotic goodness, this time centered around Heaven & Hell. Even had a Lucifer cameo.

Bringing Down the House = A+ For the life of me I don't know why this one isn't brought up more. Absolutely hysterical. Look at this cast: Steve Martin Queen Latifah Eugene Levy Jean Smart Betty White The "Simply Irresistible" fight between Queen Latifah and Missi Pyle was AMAZING.

Jurassic World = A+ Loved the 1st one. Really liked the 3rd one. (We won't talk about the 2nd one) This one is my favorite. Sensational cast. Plenty of humor. Carnage to your heart's content. Good storylines. Then the entire closing scene, capped off by that Shark-saurus thingy. LOVED it. 🦖

Toy Story 3 = A+ The opening scene was my favorite yet of this franchise. Also enjoyed the addition of Barbie & Ken. Spanish Buzz was a hoot. Wasn't sure how I was going to feel about animated movies but after watching these first three I can wholeheartedly say that I quite enjoy them.

Barry Lyndon = C The costumes, scenery, hair, makeup, the aesthetic in general were immaculate. The pacing made me question my own will to live.

Clash of the Titans = B+ That movie had no right to be so darn entertaining.

Oppenheimer = A++ Strauss sure was a slippery fuck. I didn't realize he was Downey Jr. 'til about 10 minutes left in the movie. Truman was a prick too. That detonation attempt was INTENSE. Nolan is so next level. What an honor watch his works. Matt Damon was cool. Emily Blunt was a badass.

They're still doing the timeline jumps in the second hour but I suppose I'm used to it now. I think in general I just prefer my movies to go in order. Maybe a flashback here or there but not too many.

Positivity KS @goodolks.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Oppenheimer Currently watching this. It's quite captivating. I'm not crazy about all the timeline jumps in the first hour. Quantum Physics in and of itself seems like a near impossible thing for me to understand without adding the strain of keeping up with the various points in time.

Star Trek Beyond = A+ I wasn't sure I was digging this as much as the first two and then James T. Kirk hopped on a motorcycle and I'm like yep, that did it. Then the "Sabotage" scene happened. (Sulu was great 😂) Next was the Yorktown chase which was amazing. Chris Pine era is incredible.

Moneyball = A+ I loved all the off the field baseball-y stuff. Pitt & Hill were great. That 20th game sure was intense. sheesh Can't wait until the way better version of this comes out years from now called Brewersball.

On Golden Pond = A- Really terrific The only thing that took me out of it a bit was Jane Fonda's part of the story (calling him Norman especially) and also didn't care for her acting. Apparently she was nominated for an Academy Award for those 10 minutes of screen time so what do I know?

Halls of Montezuma = A- It must of been fairly remarkable when it was released SEVENTY-FIVE years ago. It's still darn good today. First time I've ever seen tank-mounted flamethrowers. Didn't realize that was a thing. I'm convinced that no matter the year, Karl Malden always looked 70 yrs old.

We Bought a Zoo = A Was channel surfing yesterday and saw this. Had never heard of it. So I DVR'd it last night and watched it today. VERY good decision on my part I must say. Scarlett Johansson, Matt Damon, lots of animals and that cute little bugger Rosie. About as wholesome as it gets.

Star Trek (2009) = A+ The Chris Pine era is off to a GREAT start. We even got the treat of having Leonard Nimoy make an appearance. Zoe Saldaña is so ridiculously hot.

Full Metal Jacket = A+ Can't believe I went his entire appearance without realizing Private Pyle was Vincent D'Onofrio. Masterclass by R. Lee Ermey. I thought for sure that sniper girl was going to use a grenade or something on them at the end there.

Does anybody feel like 90 movies a month is a bit much or is it extremely normal? Asking for a friend.
