Once again #TheIncredibleJimmySmith sends us off into the night. This week he's found in '77 imploring us to "Sit On It!" Will do, Jimmy, will do. 'til next time then, stay safe, stay loose and stay lovely. Peace.x #Fridayvinyl #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

Winding down and kicking back with some superior 70's soft rock courtesy of #StephenBishop and his debut, which also celebrates its half century this month. "On And On" is just a perfect pop song isn't it? hmm? #Fridayvinyl #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

I absolutely rinsed this excellent 2022 debut on release but don't recall listening to it since. Time for a revisit. Apart from a remix album a year later, it's been all quiet on the #Jockstrap front. Surely we're due some new stuff? #Fridayvinyl #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

That did the trick, the week's woes have disapated somewhat. Going to dial it back a bit now..but not too much. Stuffed with hits, #ABBA 's fourth turns 50 years old on Sunday. A good excuse for an overdue spin. #Fridayvinyl #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

#Fridayvinyl time! First week in a new job and it has physically and mentally taken its toll. Time to let off some steam and the incendiary debut from #TheStooges should be just the ticket. #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

0110

It's certainly up there Nick.👍

Andrew O. @goodlaffterry.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Sorry to hear this Nick. Bloody pets, they steal your heart. Sending love.

Right, that's me suitably chilled for a new chapter tomorrow but there's enough time for a final disc. I know #RoddyFrame has seemingly retired but just one more vocal and guitar record as beautiful as this would be most welcome. Have a great week fellow travellers. Peace x #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

Or keep us going in perpetual misery to satisfy their needs. Either way, the prognosis is bleak. Here's Tom with the weather...

Not sure if I want to tbf, this shell feels goosed already! But we'll see..

But not as much as 83 year old me will think 53 year old me was. Either way, I'll still be grooving to 60's easy listening on my moon base. Or at least my cryogenically frozen head will be.

As it happens,53 year old me thinks 23 year old me was a bit of an arsehole.

210

Me too man, but if 23 year old me could see me tapping my carpet slippers to Johnny Pearson he would be appalled.😂

Once was a time when Sunday nights were the last opportunity to squeeze a few more hours out of the weekend. I still subscribe to that, but my hedonism days are long behind me and now I'm more than happy with a couple of glasses of wine and LP's like this. #SoundsOrchestral #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

Cheers Allan, hope this one sticks!

Some post #Freakzone listening (PSB/Turing spesh, which was beautiful, do catch up) I start a new job tomorrow and last night was possibly my final night shift. I'll sort of miss the next day fuzziness I'm currently feeling. Here's #TheInkSpots to embrace my frazzledom. #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

It was a fantastic listen. A beautiful piece of work. Bravo.

030

I humbly suggest you do. It was brilliant, and contrary to your post very much Freakzone material.

Finishing up with a quintessential Autumn album. #BethGibbons and #RustinMan 's "Out Of Season". A "Funny Time Of Year" indeed...take it easy. Peace.x #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky #NowPlaying

When #TheLostBrothers released the song, "Fugitive Moon" from this, their sixth LP, in October 2019 it was an instant Autumnal classic. The album followed in Feb '20 and kind of got lost as the planet stopped. A damn shame as this lovely LP really should be better known. #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

Just a couple of weeks before the 2010 Pavement gig I saw #Women at the Brudenell social club Leeds in support of this, their second LP, "Public Strain" which had just been released. Unfortunately they split a month later after an onstage altercation in the US. #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky #NowPlaying

In the fortress of Solitude for some uncharacteristic midweek listening. Nights are drawing in fast, I'm going to tenuously reflect that. It was around about this time of year I saw #Pavement in Central Park NY on their reunion shows in 2010. That'll do. #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky #NowPlaying

Finishing my #JohnColtrane triptych with one of the most important pieces of recorded music in history. An absolutely essential cornerstone. Nothing else to add really, apart from have a great week fellow travellers. Peace.x. #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky #NowPlaying #Jazz

I'm rewinding 6 months for the filling in my #JohnColtrane sandwich. This S/T LP released on Impulse followed the harsh (and completely unwarranted) criticism he and Eric Dolphy received for their village vanguard performances. Always ahead of the curve. #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky #Jazz #Nowplaying

It's matching my mood perfectly at the moment Allan. A warm blanket.

I just printed it off a Google image search. I think it's just a mock up tbh but it's a nice memento, despite the fact they've left off Shonen Knife who were the other support that night.

Some post #Freakzone listening then. I've been keeping my powder dry as far as celebrating #JohnColtrane 's centennial. Tonight was always earmarked for Trane. Kicking off with '63's "Ballads". #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky #NowPlaying #Jazz

It was mint Billy. I also own a bootleg of it..

This gig was life changing for me in many ways.also Introduced me to the genius of Eugene Kelly..six quid!

Looking back, that's exactly what it was.

Andrew O. @goodlaffterry.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

I was at a nightclub in Middlesbrough. There was an average indie band on upstairs. We stayed for two or three songs, wrote them off and went downstairs to dance to Northern Soul. The DJ announced Kurts passing and played SLTS. We were shocked, but we all went nuts. The band upstairs? Oasis.

Nowt funnier than a derp. He's doing it a lot more since he had a few teeth out earlier this year. #DogsOfBlueSky #Greyhound #Dogs #ETS

I've mentioned this to Rob himself but that book was a godsend on my daily train commute from Windsor to Waterloo. Absolutely took me somewhere else. A brilliant read

Time for #TheIncredibleJimmySmith. To call last orders. This '65 Live LP was also released as "Live At The Village Gate" Here's the German release. No #Fridayvinyl next week as I'm off on a rare night out. So,'til next time, stay safe, stay loose and stay lovely. Peace.x #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

Keeping the mood relaxed for the wind down is #BobbieGentry and #GlennCampbell with their 1968 collaboration LP. The pair toured together for a few dates at the time of its release. One for the time machine coordinates when I finally get around to building it. #Fridayvinyl #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

Another typical gear change on #Fridayvinyl next. One of my favourite records of the past few years is the 2022 s/t debut from #Sylvie I was thrilled to hear that Ben Schwab is releasing a second LP this coming November. Any excuse to dig this beauty out for another spin. #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

I was there! Didn't hear any gunshots mind. Senses were elsewhere...

It's one of the greatest LP's ever. A work of art and you can get it for pennies, and own it forever! That's magic in my book.

Staying with the motor city connection. A year prior, three Detroit brothers recorded an LP that wouldn't see the light of day for another 34 years. At just 26 minutes long, it's roughly a third of SITKOL's running time and as raw as Stevie is polished. #Death #Fridayvinyl #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

Ah, if it wasn't for the slight hiccup of "Journey...". I love HTJ.

So many things to love but right now 22 year old Nathan Watts channelling James Jamerson and dancing all over "Sir Duke" is an absolute thing of Joy.

#Fridayvinyl time. This monument turns 50 years young on Monday. The final LP in his "classic period", it was my introduction to #StevieWonder at a very early age. The singles from it, and indeed "Isn't She Lovely" and "As" seemed to dominate the wireless for a good year. #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky

I've got a cold. I can't remember the last time I had one. I've had flu, COVID and full on chest infections but it's been years since I had a dose of the common. You know the sort, snot, coughs sneezes and slight aches and pains but you can still go about your day. It's still an annoying arsehole.

Andrew O. @goodlaffterry.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

We did run off to Gretna. Only trouble is, everybody we know followed us.😂 Many Congratulations to you both!

Andrew O. @goodlaffterry.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

He played it about two weeks ago too! Was it then?
