To demonstrate this, Marr feeds a series of previously-unthinkable far-right talking points to Chris Philp, who agrees with all of them.

Marr and the person LBC got from the Sun agreeing there's "no way" the British right would unite to get power after the next GE. Like football journalism calling the end of a season 3 years away.

Irritated to learn that Liverpool managed to preserve its old dock, from 1716 and uncovered in 2001, under a shopping mall. While Brussels couldn't preserve its MUCH older medieval dock, uncovered 2019, under the new town hall of the city it gave birth to.

I think there’s a misunderstanding of the term “EU Accession negotiations”. Negotiation, in this sense, is primarily over how and by when an applicant will implement or align with each area of EU law (Acquis Communautaire), and then whether they‘ve done that. It’s not over *whether* they will.

So far today, LBC has consulted Liam Halligan and David Goodhart on Labour's EU noises. It's obvious the UK media wants the same production with the same cast to run forever.

Andrew Marr frames any discussion of EU membership for the UK as 'toxic'. Meaning the euro and freedom of movement. Meaning 'your currency is buttons, we don't like your sort and we call the shots'. But meaning other (thicker) people have such objections, not him of course.

Years into the Schuman works, buses diverted via Maelbeek still stop at a 'temporary' halt on rue Archimède. The central doors open on to a tree meaning the less mobile need help and those with luggage taking the airport bus have to be acrobatic. Contempt for bus users is chronic in Brussels.

I calculated (using science) that the average lifespan of Schuman relooks since the 60s has been 25 years. Not including fiddling about. And a bus lane with no buses might be first in line.
