@milesintransit.com just discovered that Ferndale, Michigan, had an elevated traffic post called the Crow's Nest on Woodward. It was removed in 1928 and there's a commemorative statue now.

The Triangle (2005) has it all. Craig Baxley directs a Rockne S. O'Bannon script. Weird lore. Sam Neill plays twins. Bad CGI. Dean Devlin AND Bryan Singer involved in the production. Bruce Davison plays a psychic.

1989's Killer Crocodile. Also, that's a surprisingly weak year for me given that I seriously considered Chopper Chicks in Zombietown. Society didn't do much for me.

It's 1,851 miles if you take Amtrak from Salt Lake City to Ann Arbor via Chicago. Which I'm sure is how Whittingham made the trip. @edsbs.bsky.social @hollyanderson.bsky.social

If you're on the southeast side of Waldo you have line-of-sight to the Amtrak trains as they go by. NB: this photo is from the time Albion played Kalamazoo in 2011 because K's stadium was being rebuilt.

Gonna change this up a little because my top four are Corman (20), Spielberg (16), Carpenter (13), and Peter Jackson (11), and that's boing. Instead, here's three directors all tied at 7 who are indicative of the weird crap I watch.
Stuart Gordon, René Cardona Jr, and Arthur Marks.

That's a choice all right, especially considering if you turn around and walk in the head house, it looks like this:

Lot of British stuff in this list. The Cruel Sea is a fine war drama and more downbeat than most. The most obscure (not British) might be Viktor/Viktoria; really great example of pre-Nazi German cinema.
Movie posters of the following movies: the Godfather, The Day the Earth Caught Fire, The Return of the Pink Panther, The Cruel Sea, Metropolis, E.T., Re-Animator, The Road Warrior, Double Indemnity, Help!, The Maltese Falcon, Predator, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Robot Monster, Viktor/Viktoria, and GoodFellas.

@kenwhite.bsky.social College QB transfers to new school based on verbal promise of NIL money from an assistant coach. Money does not materialize and he red-shirts. Does the player have a detrimental reliance claim?
Former UNLV QB Matthew Sluka' NIL representation, Marcus Cromartie of Equity Sports, told ESPN that Sluka was verbally promised a minimum of $100,000 from a UNLV assistant coach for transferring there. None of that money was paid, per Cromartie.
