Almost done painting these butterfly wing bases, next to cover them in cellophane, add some wire, then flocked foam bits! Butterfly fairy OC cosplay getting closer! #cosplay

While I sit and have a rest from deep cleaning my work area.... Hey #coslayers ? What is your weirdest cosplay injury?

Going Ape Costume @goingapecostume.bsky.social · 30/04/2025

I'm delighted with these defined swallowtail curves! I used a basting spray to place 2mm foam shapes onto two layers of black faux suede. Turned right side out, ironed, then top stitched! Skirt allll floofy! Next, making and attaching butterfly wings. #cosplay

I made a paneled skirt for my original character butterfly fairy cosplay. So much floofiness. You can barely see where I'll be anchoring wings between the panels. Flounces and ruffles almost done! One more row. #cosplay

Converse had a big sale on April 1st. I bought these. My GenX soul has always wanted these. I'm going to embroider them. Bead them. Now to decide on a design...

Wednesday random #cosplay question time! You don't have to say how old you are, but how are you a cosplay grandparent? What cosplay circumstances makes you want to bake another cosplayer some cookies or drop a crisp five dollar bill in the mail?

I made a cute little tick marked bit of cardboard to mark where I'd make tiny little hand stitches on these pleats. And then I sew six stitches and promptly procrastinate for 15 minutes then make the next six. This pannier hoop for my Marie Antoinette mashup will get done eventually. #cosplay

I've finished up the drawing for the cover of my husband's newest poetry book, "A Walled Pleasance". I get to do a little digital design and photo editing on it now, then slap the thing onto a matte cover paperback. Just say no to AI cover art for your books.

18 years ago, when baby no.3 was born and he got my craft room, I moved all my costume making things to a corner of my family room. I set up with bookshelves and my big table. Good looking workspace. Ultimately it didn't work. Too many interruptions, too much noise, too much cats. ⬇️
