Reading @slhamlet.bsky.social's Patreon. @secondlife.bsky.social took some SL creators to attend GDC (Game Developers Conference). Since reading this, I've heard that at least a dozen creators went and everything was paid for by Linden Lab, including flights/hotels for a week, etc. Is this TRUE?

Only in second life can you promise a more inclusive mesh body, get creators on board to hype it and then turn it into a prank (with those same creators in on it). Truly incredible how they are flabbergasted at why people seem to be upset.

I might have said that AI can be deceptive if it's used in sales ads, but I don't think it's causing me to lose any sleep.

I have no idea what you've noted it for, I'm just a person that is trying out a new video game. I never said anybody has to accept anything, you can do whatever you like with your time and energy. I choose to be unbothered.

This is already happening on all platforms, whether people want it or not. They don't think that some SL creators are using genai programs to create textures?

After a little digging, #SecondLIfe are running multiple AI ad campaigns, active right now. I've written it up on Reddit. After we were assured less than a week ago that this was ended by the company owner via @slhamlet.bsky.social I really have no words. www.reddit.com/r/secondlife...

From @slhamlet.bsky.social's Patreon post - Second Life Executive Chairman says the AI ads are just a test, didn't know it would upset SLers, sorry not sorry. Or someting like that.

The marketing team doesn't have that much control. They follow the orders from MANAGEMENT/owners, so if direct your rage @ the top.

I am once again asking you to CANCEL YOUR #SECONDLIFE PREMIUM MEMBERSHIPS! This is where your money is going. This is where they're going to continue to take this platform if we do not start voting with our wallets!!! LindenLabs are clearly showing they are anti-creator! Do not waste your money!

Disappointed to see a fellow resident selling illegal streaming videos in Second Life. Just because it's easy to steal from big studios doesn't make it right. Piracy harms creators and the industry. We should support ethical behavior, even in virtual worlds.
