Holy fuck! This's the mall I always dropped by when I had to go on a trip every month for 2 years to the area the earthquake hit yesterday. Get people the power back before it hits 38C/100F later this week. As if it's not enough, a massive typhoon is on the way around there. youtu.be/AR1c661WDUY?...

That orange piece of duck shit having 80,663 people at the stadium all boo at him is the best scene I've ever witnessed since he entered the House.

Argentine crowd interrupting England anthem by chanting, England crowd booing during Argentine anthem, Bellingham slapping Barco in the head after the match, Argentina bringing politics into the pitch... Both countries may be considered as strong, yet there's nothing they can be proud of as a human.

They didn't come home because they won, yet more than 100k people gathered to give them a warm welcome home. I love 🇳🇴 🇳🇴 🇳🇴 Such a beautiful country, amazing people!! youtu.be/g8-R22LXOeY?...

The Argentine crowd definitely are making it feel as if the match was being held in Argentina, not somewhere 5600 miles away from their home.

chiK @goedriven.bsky.social · 12/07/2026

Not to mention England first goal should've been disallowed. The ball was already dead when it hit the cable before the goal. The refs totally ignored the rules when it worked against England, then suddenly changed their mind and took them very seriously when they realised it'd work against Norway.

110

chiK @goedriven.bsky.social · 12/07/2026

Norway, I'm sorry you were robbed. Yeah Haaland pushed but it had nothing to do with where the ball was going, let alone the game. If Haaland had deserved a foul, then there should've been another 100 fouls in that match. Your enemy was FIFA after all. The scenario had been set up before the match.

chiK @goedriven.bsky.social · 11/07/2026

Watching the World Cup, it's getting hard not to root for Norway. They really stand out on the field as well as in the stands and I'm pretty much in love with the way the crowd root for their nation. Beat the hell out of England tonight! Go Haaland!!! youtu.be/xnhSDvzs3ss?...

OK since people are posting a film they like that a lot of people hate, I'll go the opposite. A film I hate that a lot of people love is The Castle of Cagliostro. I hate it with passion, sorry.

21 years ago today, I was told I had breast cancer along with a few affected lymph nodes, which felt like nothing but a death sentence. Now 21 years have passed. Still alive and kicking. If anyone's struggling right now, hang in there and take a baby step at a time. It can pass. I'm a living proof.

When I heard this song about 30 years ago, I wasn't as good at English as I may be now. It took half a decade to realise it was "What’s sleepin’ in our soul", not "What’s sleepin’ in 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞". 😂 youtube.com/shorts/MDskG...

Someone must logically explain the absolute need for silent letters in English words??? Having an Aussie as my bestie, I thought I was more familiar to the Brit pronunciations than American but I was wrong. I never knew they totally ignore the k sound in "schedule" and say it like she-jool. 😶

Thanks to those replied. I forgot to mention that they would be spending some time in Osaka & Kyoto after Tokyo. And telling someone from Osaka, known as the best okonomiyaki city in Japan, that monjayaki is good is a bold move, I'd say. It's like telling New Yorkers to eat Chicago style pizza. 😂

My friend's SIL's family are landing in Tokyo from NY and I was asked for recommendations on food, landmarks, anything cool. I do have a few in mind but still want to ask you guys who've been here. What did you enjoy the most? Is there anything you regret that you didn't do? FIY, they're NOT otaku 😆

The hook on my large shoulder bag suddenly snapped. The problem was that the hook was completely fixed to the ring so I would have to replace the entire attachment but the strap was too thick to hand-sew. I googled like a maniac and found this. Whoever came up with this is genius!!!

If you’re a writer, write “I waited” without saying it. I just stood there thinking where it all went wrong, letting the pitch black darkness soak into every fiber of my being. Then I became a shadow. I didn't even exist until the dawn found me alone and miserable again.

Shaved Pork Polpettine (Italian meatballs) with thick tomato sauce😋 Much easier to make meatballs with shaved meat than minced coz it doesn't stick to your hands. And it's much moister when cooked. The sauce is made of passata/ tomato puree with a bit of grated parmesan & dried basil leaves.

Eating out for the first time in years. Tonkatsu (pork loin cutlet) & fried shrimp. There were 4 sizes for a shrimp to pick from - XL, L, M & S - and I did choose S. I was stunned when this was served. Wonder how large it would've been if it'd been XL. Everything, even miso soup was super yummy!

Called my close friend since 5th grade who live in the affected area. She's ok though the earthquake scared the hell outta her as it reminded her of 14 years ago when her house along with her hair salon got all swept away by tsunami. Poor girl. 😥 Mother nature can be brutal at times.
