Re: his Disney comment, I saw a post this morning of him talking about how it’s a mistake to destroy evil at the end of the story. Evil is an idea and can’t be destroyed; true resolution can only come through, essentially, reconciliation (that was the idea).

Main character of Part 2 (of 3), a teenage heir to an abandoned throne, makes a friend in the course of her story and starts a relationship with them after the end of Part 2. 25-year time skip and in Part 3, we gradually learn that that friend is this story’s villain, a profit-driven warlord.

Perfect day for the last 1/3 of @fondalee.bsky.social’s The Last Contract of Isako. Made me think Frostpunk (as an fps) x The Continental (with samurai) x corporate intrigue. Great action and conspiracies, and all bound together by a provocative perspective on disclosure. Had a great time with it.

Okay, LotR re-interpretation: Hobbits as gangsters. Everything is what’s in the book — hobbit aesthetic, hobbit dialogue, hobbit shenanigans, hobbit clothes. But they’re not polite folk in an idyllic countryside, they’re crime lords who are out for blood and everybody who interacts with them knows.
