The modern change I want to see to Dark Sun is the sorcerer kings over reliance on Divination spells causing them to end up paranoid freaks locked in towers protected by their warlocks while slavery has all but ended because the people rose up.

The thing about romantasy and smut is, I've read "I roved out in search of truth and love" and "Alfie" so there's really no excuse for being the writing being shit. Hell "Vice & Violence" is basically just porn and it's got better world building, plot, jokes, and prose than ACOTAR.

Due to the OGL D&D already is fortnite and Hasbro is mad they aren't in control of that aspect. Beyond is already stuffed with micro transactions and what is essentially a battle pass, won't be long before it has dice loot boxes I'm sure.

The System Mazes runs on (called dice alchemy ai believe?) sort of does this, each class is a different sized die and rolling your highest and lowest numbers is good, so the D4 is squishy but has a 50/50 shot of doing cool shit. IIRC
