🎙️ GMB's Lisa Gillmore joined @MattChorley to make the case for One Parliament One Employer. A single employer means: ✅ Staff can access proper support ✅ Problems get prevented before they escalate ✅ MPs can get on with the job, not acting as HR managers It's common sense.

GMB is the union for the water industry. Our members built this industry, kept it running and watched it get sold off, squeezed and bled dry. Bring water back into public ownership, protect the workers who keep it flowing, and give our rivers back to the people they belong to. #StrongerTogether

Thank you @joepowell.bsky.social for speaking up in the Commons for the staff who keep this place running. 650 separate employers means no consistent terms and no proper support. One Parliament One Employer fixes that. #OneParliamentOneEmployer

After raising serious safety concerns, plans to publish the names of all MPs’ staff in the Commons register are abandoned. With threats against MPs’ staff increasing, public identification can pose real risks. This is about balancing openness with safety. We welcome the change.

Part of the @gmbmembersstaff.bsky.social campaign for #1Parliament1Employer - here's a piece written by @lisagillmore.bsky.social and myself for @labourlist.bsky.social about why it just makes sense. labourlist.org/2026/02/work...

'Working for an MP shouldn’t mean falling through the cracks of employment law' - LabourList
MPs rely on thousands of staff to do their jobs, yet Parliament leaves their employment conditions to chance. A single employer would strengthen democracy and improve standards for everyone.

Thank you to one of our star reps @jimmysergi.bsky.social for backing #OneParliamentOneEmployer. Staff deserve fair, consistent pay and conditions across Parliament, and it’s vital that those working here have champions who stand with them.
