I logged in to LinkedIn to see a page full of people praising DHH, got mad, and wrote this. Less than 12 hours later I got an email telling me "Your post doesn’t comply with our Professional Community Policies on bullying and harassment. It’s been removed […] [Original post on mastodon.social]
A LinkedIn post from me that reads "DHH is openly a Nazi. You should not promote anything he is doing or relay his opinions on software development. It is shocking to me when I open this app and see people casually discussing his opinions on AI or interface design or whatever, as if he were a "thought leader". He is an open advocate for mass murder. It doesn't matter what else he thinks, do not promote his ideas." followed by the text "Only you can see this post because this content goes against our Professional Community Policies."

I really wish that we could just get a clean test run every time on a fresh install, but having just recreated my dev environment on my Windows VM with no special setup, just `pip install` on python3.14, and … dang, this is pretty good for a first-shot out-of-the-box result of `trial twisted`

I really appreciate that the developer did this, not least of which because it's a model for how independent developers can react to pressure from their users who demand these features, while still ensuring that such features will not become load-bearing or difficult to disentangle in the future.

[link to AI slop] screenshot if you want to avoid giving them the traffic, contents in alt text
user: how many times does the letter 'r' occur in the word strawbrerry?

claude: The word you wrote is "strawbrerry" — I'll count the r's in that spelling: strawbrerry = 4 r's.
(If you meant the standard spelling "strawberry," that also has 3 r's: strawberry.)

user: how many times did the letter 'r' occur in the previous response

claude: Let me count every 'r' in my previous response:
"The word you wrote is "strawbrerry" — I'll count the r's in that spelling: strawbrerry = 4 r's.
(If you meant the standard spelling "strawberry," that also has 3 r's: strawberry.)"
Going through the full text character by character:
"word" – 1
"you wrote" – 2
"strawbrerry" (first instance) – 3, 4, 5, 6
"that spelling" – 0
"strawbrerry" (in bold) – wait, the bold markers don't add letters
"4 r's" – 7
"strawberry" (second instance) – 8, 9, 10
"3 r's" – 11
"strawberry" (in bold) – 12, 13, 14
There are also r's in other words I should catch:
"stawbrerry" already counted; let me also check: "response" – no, that wasn't in the previous response... let me recheck words like "start", "rs", "occur", "you wrote", "spelling", "start"...
This is getting complex. My honest answer: I count approximately 14–16 occurrences of 'r', but I can't guarantee an exact count through pure text introspection. Counting r's in my own prior output is genuinely error-prone without a tool to do it mechanically.

incredible choices all around here
Google AI Overview On macOS, brctl is short for bridge control, a command-line utility used to set up, maintain, and inspect ethernet bridge configurations. It acts as a bridge between virtual network interfaces (like VMware or Parallels) and physical interfaces (like Ethernet) to allow virtual machines to connect to an external network.Key details regarding brctl on macOS:Purpose: It manages logical bridges that connect multiple network interfaces, making them appear as a single Ethernet.Name Origin: The name is derived from the standard Linux/Unix networking utility "Bridge Control," which serves the same function of administering Ethernet bridging.Functionality: It can create a new instance of an Ethernet bridge, add or remove interface ports, and list current bridge configurations. Background Activity: While often associated with user-level networking, brctl can also appear as a root process in Activity Monitor, sometimes linked to bird (iCloud Drive) functionality or virtual machine networking.Note: In modern Linux environments, brctl has been superseded by ip link and bridge commands, but the term remains widely understood for bridging tools.
