Mountains in the background intersected with other mountains in the foregreound. Canopy top left corner.

Seaweed and water
Each covered with seaweed. Small streams from the sea wind their way inward to the shore.
Still water. Dusk sky.

Farm building with sloping roof and two tanks. Hill behind rising into cloud. Sun lighting middle third of image.

Tree in front. Track curves left, then right, then left up hill. Hill dulled by fine horizontal rain. Sun illuminates track.

For me this has a slightly magical feel to it. It’s not an image I’d usually make. I’m short white magic. It accidentally captured something I like about the Dales, the slight off kilter nature of it all.
Dales way, raining and it looks like snow on the photo. Track down to road. Barns and dry stone walls on hill behind. Dry stone wall to left of track.

Evergreen plantations are common in small areas in parts of the Dales. Everything underneath them is normally dead, and they don’t create much in the way of good habitat. Productive for generating wood though. Image is not good but heading in a direction I like. Needed more living trees at the top.
Evergreen forestry. Dead trees. New seedlings. Chopped down trees.

The Dales is an artificial landscape that results from mass deforestation and widespread livestock farming. I like the explicit evidence of that. It’d have been more impactful closer.
Morning. Dales landscape. Fields and trees. Dark ridge in background. Agricultural burning on left, smoke drifts to the right

I like the light, I like the receding lines, I like that the countryside is separated from the viewer by a window. I like the built railway which pushes through the landscape. I think the colours work. However, this isn't the Dales and it's very similar to other things I'd do.
Photograph from a train window of a yellow field of cut down crops. Dark skies, converging lines or railway, train carriage lights reflected in window. power cables. Rain in distance,

This doesn't work. It's cliched. The lights ok. It doesn't say anything I want to say. Maybe because I don't know what I want to say.
Cam Gill Road in the Yorkshire Dales. Pale light. Tarmac road through fields. Wire fence on left. A few trees. Nothing else.
