Painted me a vintage Chipmunk that was on the ramp the other day!
Casein painting of a DeHaviland Chipmunk while it was visiting the Canadian Warplane Museum with nearly a dozen other Chipmunks. Love this one in bare aluminum.

This little fella left Earth to travel out into the universe today🥹 When my parents got him, I thought "Sweet, a little dog will keep them active!" They got the only dog in the world that hated going for walkies. Thanks for the laughs, little man, say hi to Dad for me.
Parents' miniature long haired chihuahua, Rocky, would rather my mousing hand was put to better use. He goes back out into the universe today.

Former co-worker sent me this paper and, low and behold, I had done the illustrations in it. Always nice to see them out in the wild - the "wild", that is, of scientific publishing. Brain base surgery is some weird stuff.
Screen capture of a page in an academic paper detailing a technique for using a temporalis muscle pedicle as a patch when trans-orbital brain base surgery. Weird stuff.

Folding this light merino long sleeve that I’ve had for over a year and, for the first time, noticed this tiny label sewn inside near the hem. I liked this shirt before, but now… I needed this message as I’m about to fly home to a whole raft of crummy little life problems.
Shirt label that says “Happiness is the real rich. Health is the real wealth. Kindness is the real cool.” This is a Vuori shirt, if you’re curious.

This is the opposite of a boast. Watching someone you love try their hardest at something really, really important to them, knowing they are going to fail, is just heartbreaking. I wish I was talking about kids because they tend to move past this stuff, adults not so much.

Nobody "earns" billions. Oversimplified (ie not accounting for invested money or wacky returns), but say you have a 45 year working career. To "earn" a billion you would have to make, on average, >$22M per year. Once you "earn" a billion, you should be made into sausage.

Had on a Niel deGrasse Tyson Startalk podcast and they were talking about how silly zombies are. I totally agree. This was my working example poster for my scientific illustration students last, fall illustrating why zombies are not the threat we think they are. #SciArt youtu.be/UwlV-mflc7o?...
Fast moving zombies are stupid. In fact all zombies are stupid. They can't hunt you. They can't even see or hear you. The skin slip and fluid pooling would prevent them from moving anywhere near fast enough to catch you, plus they would cook themselves if they had to move quickly. At best they would just fall over.

Oh boy. These are so insidious. They *LOOK* like an anatomical diagram, have the same visual style and language. But when you start to look closely and scrutinize it - never even mind the labels - it's almost entirely wrong. Like, not one correct thing about it.

Given our 60 degree temperature swing from coldest days to hottest days in Canada, you would think we would be world leaders in building energy efficient housing. But, if we build them at all, we build the bare legal minimum quality house. I wish this would change. We need it to, like, yesterday.

Every idea that comes out of Doug Ford is pre-ossified, like he was passing kidney stones all over the province. I love this airport, honestly. But it's days are numbered and, as a low hour baby pilot, adding jets to this airspace, mixing with Pearson's is 100% not needed.
