During our vacation, I tried to make AI hallucinate, feeding image generators pure noise. Turns out the smart ones refused turning my gibberish into brass numbers. Gemini told me it was a Unix timestamp. 🙄 Stable Diffusion happily dreamed away. Blog post + repo: constantin.glez.de/posts/2026-0...
Two AI-generated images top/bottom. Top: a brass plate on a dark, weathered wooden door, engraved with the number 763530653. Bottom: a calm mountain lake at dawn with a wooden jetty and a red canoe moored beside it, snowy peaks and pine forests on the far shore, and no numbers anywhere. Both images came from Google Gemini, which was given nothing but random characters as a prompt.

Looks like Jev is quite diplomatic.
Screenshot of a Jev app card for the question 'is pineapple good on pizza,' with the AI's answer 'depends' in a yellow bubble. Below, four scored breakdown rows with progress bars: 'Jev says' → it depends (92%), 'How does it feel?' → flat (92%), 'What is it about?' → food (100%), 'Fits the wall?' → yes (99%).

@raydalioofficial.bsky.social’s Economic Machine video finally helped me make sense of world economics. So I built myself a weather station for it. Turns out the model is simple, but the data behind it is a swamp. Here’s the story and the tool I built: constantin.glez.de/posts/2026-0...
painting of a small brass weather station on a wooden platform built into a grassy clifftop above a mirror-calm sea at golden hour. A copper cup anemometer stands beside a large brass barometer whose dial face is completely blank, and a compass rose is inlaid into the deck. A black-and-tan dachshund in a red polka-dot bandana sleeps beside them. Far away on the horizon, a single small rain squall falls from one isolated cloud.

A few weeks ago, a reader pushed back on my Cyborg-writing post: “You are literally training your brain to surrender executive function to external sources.” Good challenge. So I went looking.
A cozy indoor scene showing a decorative brass birdcage with one yellow and green budgie inside, along with a mirror where the bird's reflection is visible, a water dish, and a perch. The cage sits on a wooden table next to a potted plant. To the left, a window overlooks trees with two birds perched on a branch singing. A stack of books and part of an armchair are visible in the foreground, and beige walls with vertical paneling complete the warm, homey setting.

TGIF! 🎉 Here are three books I love yet almost nobody recommends, all about the forces we don't see coming: 💸 What I Learned Losing a Million Dollars (Paul & Moynihan) 🦢 The Black Swan (Taleb) 🤖 Daemon (Suarez) What’s a book you’d recommend that almost nobody expects? 📚
A whimsical illustration depicting an open book as a source of knowledge and imagination. A black swan with outstretched wings emerges from the book's pages, while golden currency and leaves float upward on the left side. On the right, a silhouetted figure sits reading beneath a hanging lamp. Digital circuit patterns and nodes weave through blue vine-like branches adorned with green leaves, connecting themes of technology and nature. Water with lily pads surrounds the base of the book, creating a dreamlike landscape that symbolizes the boundless possibilities and growth that come from reading and learning.

A Kindle e-reader displaying the book cover of "Thinking in Systems" by Donella H. Meadows sits on a wooden surface next to a dark teal mug containing matcha latte remains with a spoon, and a small yellow and striped plush toy dog character wearing a colorful knit sweater.

A fantastical illustration of a serene pond ecosystem at sunrise, surrounded by vibrant wildflowers and lush vegetation. In the water, a frog holds a lantern on a lily pad while a bee hovers nearby. Golden glowing lines connect various insects—including dragonflies, a beetle, and a snail—representing an interconnected network or ecosystem. Solar panel-topped greenhouse domes are visible in the misty background among trees. The warm, ethereal lighting and whimsical art style suggest themes of nature, technology, sustainability, and ecological harmony.

♻️ ericholscher: Always love seeing the Pacman rule at the #PyconUS intro. If you want to read more, see my blog post from 9 (!) years ago. www.ericholscher.com/blog/2017/aug/…
The Pac-Man Rule
The rule is:
When standing as a group of people, always leave room for 1 person to join your group.
More memorably, stand like Pac-Man!
The new person, who has been given permission to join your group, will gather up the courage, and join you! Another important point, the group should now readjust to leave another space for a new person.
Leaving room for new people when standing in a group is a physical way to show an inclusive and welcoming envi-ronment. It reduces the feeling of there being cliques, and allows people to integrate themselves into the community.

Here’s a simple test for how you’re using AI: count what you typed vs what the AI output. 10:90 means you’re delegating. 40:60 or more means you're collaborating. Both modes are fine, but most people delegate when they should be collaborating.

One counterintuitive thing I learned this year: when I want writing to actually sound like me, I let Claude draft first. Not me. Reacting to imperfect text is much easier than starting from a blank page. Each correction pulls me forward. It felt lazy at first. Then I realized, it’s the opposite.
A 3D chibi-style cartoon avatar of the post's author: bald, light stubble, smiling warmly. He wears sleek high-tech smart glasses pushed up on his forehead, an orange bomber jacket with a glowing yellow star badge over a teal shirt, and dark grey trousers with small tech devices clipped to his belt. One hand rests on the smart glasses, the other relaxed at his side. The aesthetic suggests a friendly, harmonious blend of human and technology rather than a cold or menacing cyborg.
