What we know so far: Amazon wants to build a drone delivery hub at its fulfillment center in North Portland (per a pre-application conference request) and plans to launch this option in early 2027. The company will meet with city planning officials later this month.

I’d never heard of these somehow, before your post, and I’m now a couple books in. Thanks so much for posting about it, they’re so lovely and well written. Can’t believe I completely missed out on these as a young one!

Sounds like she super doesn’t like your cooking. That’s not a dig at your cooking, but if it’s super far from how she’s accustomed to eating it might be too foreign to her palate. Maybe try making Mac n cheese from scratch? Maybe good simple mashed potatoes?

I don’t get the folks mad at unfamiliar words in books. Thanks to one book I’ve looked up: pullulate, mandril, sybaritic, penumbral, bombazine, who was Violet Dickson and what’s her namesake plant Horwoodia Dicksoniae look like, and what’s the history of the last name Woolf. Curious minds discover!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I’m a sucker for books exploring food, culture, & place. Interviews w/ owners of Chinese restaurants around the globe. It’s fascinating how ingredients are change to adapt to local markets and tastes. How these folks also blend into or stay separate from their new communities. #booksky

I very much want to listen to Dungeon Crawler Carl, but it seems to ONLY be available through Kindle. So I wait, and eventually I’ll have the time to focus on an entire print series instead

Ok, but you’re in Portland area, right? I see that the waitlist is 1,817 (18 per copy) for the audiobook with MultCoLib but as a resident of the Metro region, you can also get library cards from Clackamas and Washington counties. Get every single library card! Still a wait, but much better

Do musicals only show up in the musicals feed if they’re Fiddler on the Roof or Phantom of the Paradise or The Sound of Music? Or am I actually the only Hadestown fan? It’s so good, guys! It’s a SAD song…

“Is A River Alive” by Robert Macfarlane published 2025. 🎧 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ SO GOOD! Non-fiction, nature writing, hopeful, lyrical, and philosophical. Reads a bit like Robin Wall Kimmerer, but coming from an English cultural starting point. Great storytelling and luscious language. #BookSky
