I’m confused.Somebody help me with this…What do people actually mean when they say “Christian Nation”?Because a nation is not “Christian” because it fights to hang Ten Commandments posters in schools.Or stages prayer photo ops for its leaders.Or uses Jesus as campaign branding while ignoring, or even demonizing the people Jesus told us to love.Jesus was actually pretty clear about what He would look for in His followers:Feed the hungry.Care for the sick.Welcome the stranger.Clothe the poor.Visit the prisoner.Do not judge.Love others as we love ourselves.And this is where the conversation gets uncomfortable.When many Evangelicals talk about building a “Christian Nation,” what do they actually mean?Because if it does not include compassion,mercy, generosity, humility, justice, andsacrificial love for vulnerable people…then what is left besides legislating morality and protecting power?At that point, we are not talking about following Jesus.We are talking about a Christian theocracydecorated with Bible versesbut completely emptied of Christlike love.Because nations do not repent.Nations do not take up their cross.Nations do not follow Jesus.People do.Matthew 25 is a mirror the Church was never supposed to avoid.A faith that fights for “Christian values”while shrugging at hunger, cruelty,corruption, dehumanization,dishonesty, or sufferingis not defending Christianity at all.It baptizes an ideology as “Christian”while it marches in the opposite direction of Jesus.And Church…that should terrify us.Because if our vision of a “Christian Nation” requires us to ignore the words of Christ… then we are not building the Kingdom of God.We are building something elseand asking Jesus to put His name on the sign.We need to stop calling that Christianity.And we need to love Jesus enough to challenge those who do.#ChristianNation #ChristianNationalism #TPUSA #MAGA
