I refuse to buy any household item that wants to connect to Wifi. I was elated to find a washing machine with only a single rotary control that just washes the clothes and does not attempt to do anything else. A magnificent moment.

This is it. What I'm seeing is a tool for generating technical debt. However I do find it useful for reviewing my code - it will pick up some legitimate bugs. I use it there but I don't trust it for non-trivial work and wouldn't miss it if it vanished tomorrow or work stopped paying for it.

Also I have come to detest its voice- something about the wordy over-explaining style that it has inherited from tens of thousands of tech blogs drives me up the wall. I spent most of last Friday slowly working through the resdme working out which parts were accurate and deleting pages of verbosity.

I recently inherited a heavily beclauded application and it shows both the strengths and weaknesses of the tool - much of it works (which is frankly impressive) but it's horribly verbose, overengineered and because it can't understand anything there's no real way for it to create abstractions.

The increase in code volume helped precipitate corporate AI mania by making the early adopters look productive (generated more lines of code) and making the people who took the time to review that code look less productive because it took so much longer and they had less time for other work.

We're currently watching Fangs Of Fortune, which is also a Chinese demon-hunting story where everyone is beautiful but one of the demon-hunting crew in this one is an annoying child, so that's great. A little over-reliant on flashbacks, not sure I'd recommend it, but has had some moments.

They are perfectly adapted for life on the steppe 100,000 years ago, and everything we ask them to deal with is not that, which creates most of the problems they suffer in the human world. My mum is also allergic to the point I need changes of clothes for visiting my parents.

My special interest for the last 20-something years has been horses (and equines more generally) and the limitless subtlety and generosity that our interactions with them can have. It has made me the person I am, keeps me rooted in the real world, and is truly miserable in the dark rainy winter.

I'm currently updating my outline to match the book which sounds stupid but it's also where I keep my character list and all their descriptions and those are useful to have. So far I've found two characters whose names changed between chapters for no reason.
