Supermarionation Sunday The TV Century 21 🧵 issue #88 On sale 21 September 1966 This week’s cover: A rather striking image of Thunderbird 3 created during production on the feature film “Thunderbirds Are Go”

Operation Sunburst begins

“OBJECT of mission-to set course for
Sun, locate breakout of solid matter of planetary size, attack and
destroy!"

These were the orders issued today to the crew of Thunderbird 3, with whom the last hopes for the world's survival must surely lie. The International Rescue organisation has been entrusted with the most powerful nuclear explosive device ever constructed, the incredible Planatomic bomb that has been carefully guarded in the secret pens at Space City ever since its manufacture.

That the missile is equal to its task, there is no doubt. The one snag... there can be no second time around.
If anything goes amiss the world - perhaps the whole solar system - is finished

Riot police in Gosport because that idiot Daniel Thomas is in channel tailing 2 x RNLI boats with refugees, after slashing the boat they were transferred from *while* a member of the RNLI was on board the empty dinghy. He's told all his followers to go to Gosport. He should be f*cking arrested.

EARTH’S PERIL EXAGGERATED

Says World Senate Press Attache

AN appeal to the press not to overplay the causes of the violent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions at present racking Earth was made today by deputy Press Attache to the World Senate, Sven Martens.

In view of information received from reliable sources, that International Rescue are worried enough to be considering a desperate solo attempt to locate the root of the trouble, TV 21 is of the opinion that a fuller statement from the Government is necessary.

STINGRAY GOES OVERLAND

Diver abandoned in Amazon drama

OFFICIAL statements from Marineville this morning disclosed plans to ferry the W.A.S.P. vessel Stingray overland to the Amazon jungle by means of revolutionary adaptations to the Pacific-Atlantic Monorail freight system.

Stingray's mission: To carry out a depth survey of the interior lake, scene of the recent sabotage sensation on the monorail.

The decision to declare the whole zone a restricted area has raised terrifying problems for a United Network Helicopter crew, at present making salvage explorations at the site. A manned diving probe lowered by the helicopter has been severed from its parent craft, and the Marineville order for immediate evacuation of the locality means that attempts to recover the stranded diver must be called off
