My initial impressions of the score for #waroftherohirrim is that it was nice to hear the Howard Shore themes that we know so well and the new composer Stephen Gallagher introduced some new recognisable themes, but it had an old feel like the Bakshi LOTR or the Princess Bride by Mark Knoffler.

I am doing a deep dive into the ROP scores by Bear McCreary. My first discovery is in the Khazad Dum B theme which uses Lydian mode. It is only used twice in S1 and once in S2. Bear describes it as "more emotional" in his blog. I am seeing a connection to light and the heart of Khazad Dum. #ROP
