That red head lady… It’s one thing to intentionally have your kid at a “low performing” or “high poverty” school. It’s another to witness your child struggle for a majority of their education and not do anything to supplement or course correct.

Part of the issue is NHJ's narrative relies on the myth that "black public school = bad school" There are well-performing black schools that NHJ could've put her daughter in, that would've allowed her to stay in PUBLIC SCHOOL and get a well-rounded education. But that wouldn't suit her NYT piece
