"It is possible to have deep, personal relationships with more than one person at a time.
"Relationships can be platonic, physical/sexual, or emotional, or any or all of the above.
"It is possible to have an ethical relationship with someone that involves sex but not love, or love without sex.
"The most important ingredients of an ethical relationship is honesty, integrity, communication, having healthy boundaries and rules, respecting others' rules and boundaries, and (most importantly) one must know AND love oneself before you can have a healthy, ethical, non-monogamous relationship of any kind.
"Therapy is not a crutch to support any sort of relationship, and nor it is necessary to support one. But it can be a HUGE help in knowing and loving oneself, and by extension loving others.
"It is certainly acceptable (and sometimes necessary) to end a relationship, or to allow that relationship to evolve to a form that works better for all concerned.
"If you need support for your non-monogamous life, find a community of like-minded people and participate in it. If you cannot find such a community, start one.
"You don't have to be out to have a healthy non-monogamous life (some of us don't have that option), but there is a WORLD of difference in your mental health if you are.
"99% of the good advice given to monogamous folk applies to non-monogamous folk as well.

I see pictures like this, and I think, "There are those that would destroy the place to put $10 more in the bank."
Quote from astronaut Edgar Mitchell:
“You develop an instant global consciousness, a people orientation, an intense dissatisfaction with the state of the world, and a compulsion to do something about it. From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch.”

Karl Marx in a cryogenic cylinder.
Future man: Here it is, Karl Marx. Cryogenically frozen and set to awaken when the material dialectic has come to an end.
Marx: Where am I? Germany in the 1930s?
FM: No, you are in the year 2230, and we have good news: the means of production have become so advanced that A.I. performs all labor.
Marx: So humanity has finally achieved it, huh? Communism has arrived and the true philosophy of human freedome can begin.
FM: Well, there also bad news . . . We never did get rid of capitalism, so everyone just got fired and like twelve guys are quadrillionaires.
Marx: What?! But communism is inevitable. I proved it! If society could advance this much without overthrowing capitalism, that can only mean one thing . . .
FM: That you were wrong?
Marx: What? No! It obviously means that you guy aren't standing on street corners handing out socialist newspapers!
FM: Yes, we were!
Marx: Were you, really? Then whey don't we have communism? Huh?!
FM Well, we did it for a few hundred years, but then everything went online so, . . .
Marx: I knew it! As usual, everything will be up to me.

Marx: Comrade, you are being exploited. Take this leaflet!

Interestingly enough, if you think of tolerance as part of the social contract instead of an moral ideal, the paradox falls apart. Those who step out of the social contract (that is, into intolerance) have voluntarily left any protection (tolerance) from the social contract.
A description of Popper's Paradox:
Frame one:
Should a tolerant society tolerate intolerance? Nazi says "You want more tolerance? Respect my ideas." The answer is NO. Caption: It's a paradox, but unlimited tolerance can lead to the extinction of tolerance.
Frame 2:
When we extend tolerance to those who are openly intolerant, the tolerant ones end up being destroyed, and tolerance with them.
Frame 3:
Any movement that repfaces intolerance and persecution must be outside the law. Popper: "As paradoxical as it may seem defending tolerance requires to not tolerate the intolerant."

One of the healthiest ways to convert a sod lawn to a prairie ecology is occultation. 1. Scalp the lawn with mower. 2. Water hard to encourage germination of seeds present. 3. Cover with waterproof dark plastic. 4. Let grass die over the winter. 5. Seed with native prairie plants in spring.
Black plastic on lawn will kill off existing and newly-germinated grass seeds if left for the winter. This is the first portion of the front yard to be treated.A better view of the occulting black plastic spread over the north half of the front yard.

So what do you, as the Secretary of the Treasury, do while "listening" to speeches at the U.N. General Assembly. You read texts from Agriculture Secretary Rollins describing how the U.S. screwed itself over by bailing out Argentina and angle your phone so as to enable a photographer from AP.
U. S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent reading a text from Agricultural Secretary Brooke Rollins describing that when the U.S. bailed out Argentina, it in turn dropped its export tariffs on grains to China and made a killing in the market.
"We bailed out Argentina yesterday and in return Argentina removed their export tariffs on grains, reducing their price to China at a time when we would normally be selling to China. Soy prices are dropping further because of it. This gives China more leverage on us."
Photograph by an enterprising AP reporter who could see the text plain as day.
