Nothing beats the ChatGPT we all have inside. Been long hours writing and as soon as I focused I stopped using the 'machine'. And since I did I found my own voice and ideas and words just flow, in a way nobody could have put it better. Seriously, the same with writing code: we're the originals.

Connecting @hono.dev to your MCP server just got a lot smoother ✨ You can run this on @cloudflare.social, Bun, Deno, basically all the places where hono can run! I made a video walking through hono/mcp in action youtu.be/KiBdEo1nS8A

I'm writing an internal document inspired by a lot of things #DDD and EDA when it came to explaining Aggregates it all lost clarity and linearity... you don't say... so I coined the new term Cohesive Unit of State (CUS) that has a lifecycle, invariants, and ensure transactional consistency CUS™️

As predicted, Palantir is on the scene, and behind it... the master plan could be merging government datasets with social media datasets? Know absolutely all about "subjects", surveil and punishe them at will. Technofascism is here. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/t...

I read on the plane Specifications by Example and had the chance to immediately put in to practice some principle at a meeting with clients. My new golden rule is "derive scope from business goals", works like a charm. Requirements just DISAPPEAR simply by asking "and why do we need that?"

amazing!! would it be possible to configure the knowledge base for these ai interactions? I made a library + a AI cli to help devs build domain layers, it eventual feeds to EC. Would be nice if devs could continue using the same guidelines when exploring within EC, if it makes sense...

Do LLMs help with Legacy Code? This is an interesting problem for the pattern recognition machines. They work like your mobile keyboard, but on steroids. They continuously suggest the next most likely word, based on what happened before. Recognised patterns will be repeated.  (pictured by OpenAi)

It seems very obvious to me: if Conway law holds water, hence for a service-based architecture we allocate different teams to each service, then if we want an Hexagonal/Onion architecture we should do the same for service layers.
000
Giovanni Chiodi @giovan2i.bsky.social · 08/04/2025
One team will provide nicely done and tested domain layers, processing commands, emitting events, managing the state. Another team will spin up the DAPR apps and connect the api and message brokers to it. Same reason we divide stream aligned teams to different contexts. Same architectural benefits.
000
Giovanni Chiodi @giovan2i.bsky.social · 08/04/2025
an example: a new project would require my team to figure out the business side, bounded-contexts, business logic, design, etc. Some devs are lost in that world. I know we also want to use DAPR and we should spend time to familiarize. We can't do it all.
000
Giovanni Chiodi @giovan2i.bsky.social · 08/04/2025
primarily a great cognitive load reduction. It's difficult to properly figure out business needs (modelling and facilitation skills), and writing good DDD code (OOP or FP skills), while implementing infra interfaces and API endpoints, and liaising with DevSecOps. They're different concerns.

What are your thoughts about an inverse Conway manouvre for hexagonal/onion architecture? Has anybody tried? = a dedicated team for domain modelling + a dedicated team for app&infra development #DDD #TeamTopologies

: use typescript and enjoy the smooth illusion of a functional and typed language, then convert them all in #typebox schemas (then json schemas for evt registries) with a script using typebox codegen, and only import the schema anytime you need to parse
010
Giovanni Chiodi @giovan2i.bsky.social · 07/04/2025
and for the (functional) #typescript #DDD -ers, a tip: when modelling types we're faced with a choice: use typescript and lose the types at runtime, or use schemas like in zod and keep them at runtime but polluting the code with a dependency and making it harder to read and write OR, another choice
110
Giovanni Chiodi @giovan2i.bsky.social · 07/04/2025
another question for the #DDD -ers: does it ever happen in your projects that the domain layer gets bypassed by later developers (with transaction scripts) because they have no idea what's inside and how it works and why? How to reduce the chance of this happening?
010
Giovanni Chiodi @giovan2i.bsky.social · 07/04/2025
no pressure but would love to hear what @nick-tune.me thinks 👋

Giovanni Chiodi @giovan2i.bsky.social · 07/04/2025
so it would be: 1) domain team + domain experts iterate through the model (EventStorming and code), 2) when stable domain team add tests and packages it in an API, 3) app dev team takes over, develop infra dependencies and deploys, 4) domain team + domain experts tackle next module/process
000
Giovanni Chiodi @giovan2i.bsky.social · 07/04/2025
Not everybody has domain modelling skills, and it takes time to acquire them. Similarly for advanced infra, DevOps or frameworks skills. Keeping such separation would ensure continuity and smoothness in the pipeline. Your thoughts?
100
Giovanni Chiodi @giovan2i.bsky.social · 07/04/2025
It could be effective in modular architectures: when the domain team has completed a domain layer, secured it with tests and validated it, it can wrap it in an API, hand it over to the app dev team, and move on to the next module
000
Giovanni Chiodi @giovan2i.bsky.social · 07/04/2025
for the #DDD -ers and #TeamTopologies -ers out there, do you ever structure your delivery team in a "domain" team (working on the domain model and the domain layer) and a separate "app dev" team (bringing the domain layer further attaching it to an application and infra layer)?

I had missed that....without compilation? Meaning types are available at runtime? I either missed something huge or I'm misunderstanding. I tend to use jsdocs to annotate smaller types (like string and num with min max bounds) so that TypeBox Workbench can produce schemas (valid at runtime)

totally... to me modern development skills are all about (ddd) design and modelling, AI can do the implementation. But if you don't (ddd) design and don't model then AI doesn't know what to do, or does things you don't want. Explain that to managers btw, good luck....

Palantir is also involved in similar projects (Maven), but what worries me most is their application to civilian use, more than the military. Nothing prevents them to create a combined db from Meta, X, and the newly acquired gov data, and use Palantir-like systems to surveil, control, punish.

To be clear, I think it's a wrong bet technically and morally, that just reveals some core dumbness or worse, ideology. Technically, they fell victim of their own marketing if they believe things like Palantir can optimise governments, or X can control public opinions. Keep dreaming. Second...

I find it very fascinating and scary how software is becoming so urgently political. For some time "agility" thought society to deal with complexity and emergence, a lesson never fully learned. But now tech promises tools for predictively governing complex systems, and we've gone full circle.
