AF attack on @ginkgohue.bsky.social of Ashen and Sylvia from Sunlit Shadows 🔥😌 #art #sunlitshadows #knight #fantasy

A knight screaming about something in a forest while tugging a fuming woman along by her cape. She’s about ready to boil over with rage. This man is so loud. What if there’s starving monsters thrice their size out here?

theres this one tumblr post ive seen talking about that phenomenon but w fiction writing that I think about often

darling of dots feb 24
been stewing on an analytical approach to fiction which call "is this book afraid of me?" and in order to answer this question you determine how hard the book is trying to make sure you don't come after the writer on twitter

the fucked-up part is that specifically notice this in like, BIPOC or queer romances because their authors a) are more likely to be harassed online b) tend to care about writing inclusive and intersectional books more, both of which are totally valid reasons, but unfortunately a book that is scared to be misunderstood is also scared to challenge the reader or allow for too much nuance or grey areas or character flaws and am sorry to say that it often makes for less compelling stories because it means shying away from ambiguities and complexities in an effort to reassure me, the reader, that everyone here is a Good Person engaging in Healthy Behaviours and Relationships

Gave my art carrd a small makeover and stripped it of a lot of unnecessary text, though maybe I should add that sunlit shadows is my comic? Though maybe you can gather frm the context of tapas and webtoon being next to it? I'm unsure 🤔

Happy #PortfolioDay! I am a queer artist from Austria who is working on illustrated sapphic fantasy novels inspired by Austrian folklore. I also share art made for my dnd and daggerheart campaigns! Would love to find my audience! :D #art #oc #ocsky #ttrpg #dnd #daggerheart #illustration #ocart

Digital drawing of a woman riding on a horse. Next to her another woman walks. They look at each other as the sun sets in the background. This drawing is inspired by the painting 'La Belle Dame sans Merci' by Frank Dicksee.

Traditional lineart with digital coloring depicting two humans walking through a forest at dawn, a castle stands behind them.

Digital drawing of a cherry blossom forest. A village and the sea are in the background.

A digital drawing of a woman in a red dress proping herself up on a stool and another woman in a blue dress leaning on the other and kissing her head softly

Didn't get to draw the comic I wanted for today but I drew this. Really getting into this rendering stuff :) Added some lore in the alt section! #illustration #art #webcomic #valentinesdayart #sunlitshadows #oc

So I wasn't able to draw what I wanted to in the first place, I decided to share Prevaria's version of Valentine's!
For now I've called it " The Blue Day ". It is a festival where a few things happen: a specific blue flower blooms in the night which gives the surroundings a blue glow from the moonlight, it's the day saplings start sprouting on their farmlands announcing that it'll be a good year and the birds have started making nests!

Although this is celebrated across Prevaria, each village/region has a slightly different custom.

In Landow, elders wake up early in the morning and tie little blue ribbons to the big mulberry tree. Throughout the day the entire village prepares for a feast, but once the ribbons are tied, people take one and offer it to their love interest. This is an activity that everyone takes part in, bus especially ones seeking a wife or husband.

If the one you ask accepts the ribbon, then you spend the day together, making food together or just spending the time getting to know each other.

The feast ends when the flowers bloom. That is the moment for the pairs to find a secluded place to decide whether they'll be together going forward or not. If you've given a ribbon, you're supposed to close your eyes and let your beloved choose. Will they stay, nor will they walk away?

Often even when they walk away they will keep the ribbon as a sign that they wish to remember the day they spent with you, but maybe the timing just isn't right. It's often very embarrassing for the ribbon to be left behind. You're supposed to tie it back to the mulberry tree. If your beloved didn't want you, the tree loves all. It's supposed to be a comforting end.

The comic I wanted to make was of a younger Sylvia offering a ribbon to someone she really liked but by the end of the day they leave and give back the ribbon. Big yikes. Sylvia can't take the embarrassment and throws it away. She's not very good with people in general.

The recurring beast in Tori's nightmares (dubbed Mare) needs some shaping up so the design doesn't look exactly the same as what it is outside of the dreams. idk what I want for that yet so I guess we're doing texture studies lol #art #traditionalart

Skol al louarn (WIP), my gift for trigonomicon, for this year pixeljoint's secret santa. #pixelart #db32

Huge pixel art illustration of an overgrown, clunky mech in a forest, illuminated by bright and colourfull light rays that comes from the sky. A crow is standing on the boxy head of the mech, which is also bursting with a white flower bush. An old korrigan (Britton elf?), who is roughly the size of the crow, is chilling on the shoulder of the mech. in the cockpit, three little korrigans are playing. On the ground, from right to left : 2 little korrigans are drawing children drawing on the mech, standing on the root of the tree the robot is resting on. One is sleeping in the driver helmet, while 2 others are scheming to wake them up using big nails as hammers on the helmet. A lil korrigan with a big net is trying to catch a lullaby. Two korrigans are offering a group of snails a safe travel amongst the mayhem. One is looking at small mushrooms on a root covered by moss. Another is trying to pull a red small mushroom from the ground. Under the robot, two korrigans are trying to pull what appears to be a radioactive battery out of a small pond of water.
Two korrigans are using one of the doors of the cockpit as a swing. One of them is looking slightly up, seemingly surprised. One is hopping out of the canon of the mech, looking into the same direction. Another one is playing with rocks along the river, also looking surprised. On the tree, a small dragon that mostly looks like a lizard with wings and a long neck is climbing. A korrigan is climbing after it, trying to catch it. And the last korrigan is sitting on one of the roots of the tree, looking at the dragon too.
In the distance, in a hole on the tree, a grumpy owl is looking at the spectacle.

Traditional illustration of a small mermaid clinging to a bone, their tail wrapped around it. Their skin is dark grey, their eyes big, round and white, a big grin shows their pointy white teeth. The hair is a bit curly and coloured in a mix of mint and olive, and so is their fishtail and their fins.
