Sorry for not being super active recently, I’ve been doing something pretty cool for my sports management degree but it’s taking a lot of time. Here’s a lion from the San Diego zoo as penance

Donated to Iowa state on behalf of my grandfather. It was a toss up between ISU and K-State but Iowa state was lower in the rankings

Via Ben Griffis’ best XI scouting app, this is her radar vs midfielders from last season. Shes gonna pair well w Mina, they can both play 9 or 10

My most recent email to Jessica Berman.

Hi Jessica,

Two things:

1- your support of sportswashing and running around in Dubai instead of negotiating with the NWSLPA is embarrassing. What would you say you actually do?

2- How DARE you say that this league doesn’t have young fans. I myself am a young fan. I know plenty of young fans. Every time I go to a game, I see dozens of young fans being inspired and entertained by this great league. It is infuriating that you claim we don’t exist, when we are in fact what makes the NWSL a successful league in the first place.

Your commisionership is an abject failure. Resign.

Sincerely,
Jacob Mitchell

Kelley O’Hara is not a Bat, she played nearly twice as many minutes for the Spirit. Fuck a house-divided Jersey, that’s fraud

The paragraph right after it is even better lmao. “Heroic and, even, perfect” lollllll

My penalty save in the final had been viewed as heroic and, even, perfect. Even people who weren’t into football were excited about the display, praising the execution, the composure and the swearing that followed, which was celebrated by women for its passion and deliverance and criticised by others who would never have picked up on, let alone noticed it, in a man celebrating the biggest save – or any other feat – of his life.

I’d been given the new nickname Mary Queen of Stops, and the way the save, or a goalkeeper for that matter, was being talked about was on a scale that was unprecedented in the women’s game. I was buzzing that it had achieved that. I was also taken aback. After all, the stage on which it was seen was huge, but I’d been doing the same thing my whole career, the same repetition, same consistency, same composure, with barely anyone noticing until a year earlier.
