if you’re writing an arthuriana thing why not go back to the knight of the cart and go over his narrative and thematic place in that. don’t just lean on the shorthands about him. and then put whatever conclusions you come to in your thing.

dink jr @gimmick.zone · 11/09/2026

dink jr @gimmick.zone · 05/09/2026

oh masked man dark romance is in rn (in the sense of like… stalker home invader etc kind of thing) and that mask has kind of been adopted as the like mascot of that. occasionally more generic guys in motorcycle masks or balaclavas but. its meant to be random guy in mask not literally ghostface

dink jr @gimmick.zone · 05/09/2026

yeah they make notepads like this without the corny signifiers lol

100

also i’ve always been a conscientious objector to like the concept of wireless earbuds due to the whole battery waste thing but sennheisers releasing some with user replaceable batteries so its like ffuuuuccckk… do i cop the $500 sennies and step into the 21st century…

000

… doing up a three gloves down sticker?

need something for the space on the left but it’d have to be an inch wide at most and most people print vinyl stickers bigger than that

000

gay arthuriana is like kind of dire. which is crazy when these guys were all sucking and fucking in the medieval texts

011

also maleagant did, in fact, get a brief appearance in this, but i’m not adding it to the masterlist for the sake of three entire paragraphs when the book isn’t even good

001

basically everything in this annoyed me but something that particularly grated me was the like. marvel cameo style references like this. who is this for

It was a disgrace to be seen inside such a cart, but it was the only way I could evade Galehaut and Gawain. The wooden bars of the cart were spaced wide apart, so that onlookers could see who was inside. I was spotted by many, and these sightings only contributed to the tales of my
madness. At the time I thought nothing of it, but the brief ride would stick to me. Even now, years later, I am still called the Knight of the Cart. If the criminals in the cart recognized me, however, they said nothing. All of us
were someplace else.

finished it. Yup that’s about right

soaking maleagant in milk and smacking him into the wall

030

i know that‘s something of a hallmark of romance as a genre so i’m not looking for anything revolutionary here but can we get like “pleasant prose” and “a protagonist thst isn’t irritatingly flat”

has anyone ever written a good inspired-by-historical-yaoi novel or is it all this paint by numbers shit

120

he is half giant in this! so we have got like the basics covered except for like, his entire personality

come herereee we got yaoi and also maleagant gay. this bit is right after a very extended sequence about how galehaut is for real romantically in love with lancelot, which could mean nothing.

hop on the actual vulgate though if you havent already galehaut/lancelot is some absolutely insane yaoi
