Back home now, already collapsed into bed and just feeing so… empty. I think I’m going to get a bit more sleep and just have a little cry for a bit.

I did get to see my CR scan though and man, 80% of my left side lung is just black empty space ;.; Pretty cool to see though.

And xray done and talk done. Lung has re-collapsed on one side. Going for a CT scan on Friday and interview being arranged with surgeons. I have multiple air pockets and bulleas. Probably decades of popping and healing around each other has created a minefield of air pockets. Everyone is stumped.

Man taking meds and painkillers is so much harder without a nurse appearing by my bed like clockwork every few hours. Boy it hurts sometimes. ;.;

Last update for this little saga: I have been released for now. That was very scary and made me realise I have to make some big changes and that I take far too much for granted. Flew a little too close to the sun that time.

Update for the 4th Jul 2026: waiting on a chest xray. Assuming my condition hasn’t worsened overnight with the drain removed, I’ll be allowed to leave at some point today. I’ll reappear on the Tuesday to talk about future surgery. Fwingers and talons crossed <3

Essentially there is a big chunk of my lung that does not have any capacity to absorb air and likely hasn’t for years. This reached critical mass and caused a partial collapse and now here we are. Feel like we should have led with the CT scan, fellas but I’m glad we got. Operation in a week or so.

Update: CT results back! It is not and has never been a collapsed lung on its own, it’s a ‘buller’ or ‘buller lung’ and it’s just blew up.

Update for 2nd Jul, 2026 I’ve been waiting for a CT scan pretty much all day and I’m still waiting. Looks like it’s going to happen in the morning. This will inform the doctors about what happens to me next. Blood Ox is 98%, pulse is ~75 and pressure is good. I’m up, mobile and made my own tea.

The tube in my lung had become detached again. Twice now. I’m worried they’re going to want to go back to the surgery. Ughhh.

I am now retubed and have been moved elsewhere for real rest in my own room. Might be out of it for a few days but we’re through the worst I think

There is a legitimate chance this could fail and a legitimate chance this could be it, if it does fail. I don’t know when this will be. So I want to say just incase the worst happens, that I love you all so very very much, and you’ve been an incredibly positive influence on my life.
