Both the murderer and his abettor were male. The fact that the Tyee and the CAHN cannot honestly report that fact, while we suffer an epidemic of male-on-female violence, deeply undermines your credibility.

Lol. That's what Marissen and his epic band of misfits did last time. Roping in a mercenary ex-NDPer to fake being non-partisan. I expect, like Progress Vancouver, we will hear nothing from the Vancouver Liberals after they lose this election.

But unlike a Primier or a Prime Minister the Mayor is not the leader of an elected majority. One City won't elect more than one or two councillors so the grandious policy statements are meaningless, even if Azaroff wins (he won't win).

"Progressive"? Jesus H. Christ they are a collection of failed NPA and Conservative hacks.

The mayor has no more opportunity to "implement ideas" than any other council member. Without the support of council, that is zero.

I met Azaroff a few weeks ago at a semi-private electioneering event and it was clear he won't withdraw. Ego the size of a planet. And views it as a stepping stone to Provincial and Federal politics.

She would have been a great candidate for council. Azaroff too. Baffling that they did this.

Suddenly The Radical Pro-Trans Medical Organization WPATH Tells A Court That It’s Just Guessing
Regulators are using WPATH standards as a set of absolutely certain and inflexible scientific rules at the exact moment that WPATH is shrugging and calling the whole thing a highly debatable guess.

Is the story really that someone "gloated", or is it that the court determined children are being harmed?

Should have asked them why not to vote for the other two. Hearing 3 candidates all in perfect agreement with each other seems like a wasted opportunity.

Got it. If the government buys condos at 2009 prices and sell them maybe for some reason to wholesome private buyers, definitely not corporations, at who-knows-what price...that's good. Vote One City!!! #vanpoli

What do you think? What does One City think? Journalists ask questions. Politicians are supposed to answer them.

gilesfenburn.bsky.social @gilesfenburn.bsky.social · 26/06/2026
Playing devil's advocate is a journalistic tic which doesn't work for a political candidate.

Does One City think it is a good idea for government to invest in Vancouver condos, a famous financial bubble which is currently popping (with a long way to go)? I doubt that's a big vote winner with your demographic any more.

Maybe a journalist or a political hopeful could fund the facts and make an argument on that rather than naive speculation.

And by the way, this isn't "a lot of fun" or "satisfying" for those who can see this is an outrageous idea. Azeroff should know better.

gilesfenburn.bsky.social @gilesfenburn.bsky.social · 26/06/2026
You assume that they are buying the condos at 50% off? Cmon now. Where did you get that from? They could drop the prices by 10% (or less) and the market would start to move with regular buyers.

20% are either for Squamish Nation people or if not, slightly lower than market rent (still very expensive). 80% are way, way over market. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

The premise is entirely wrong. There is no shortage of vacant rentals or empty homes. It's just that noone can afford them. The Senakw ones are the most expensive of all.

Men using women's toilets etc were not "hard-won protections". That was always against the law, which the Supreme Court has now confirmed.

They didn't kill it. They made a meaningless motion for their few supporters to see. VCH have not been working "towards" this. It is a service that has moved several times but always within a few blocks of Burrard and Nelson.

They cancelled because too much of is neither non-market or affordable. 50% full market rent mostly. 30% close to market. Non-profits can't fill the suites and struggle to stay financially viable. It's a failed program. Talk to the non-profits who are already operating CHF projects and you'd hear.
