shepherd's warning 🌄 #ffxiv ✧ #art

An illustration of Halmarut from Final Fantasy XIV, an Au Ra woman with long red hair and green dragon-ish horns and tail, wearing round glasses and an old-fashioned dark green dress. She is standing at the base of a tree, with branches and roots circling her. Above her is a large star, with 13 smaller stars in an oval around her - seven of them are ensnared in the trees branches and roots, and Halmarut is reaching out towards one of the un-ensnared ones, with a few bright blue butterflies flying from her hand towards the star. An intricate gold border surrounds the scene, incorporating Halmarut's Ascian glyph and the flower patterns on her dress into the frame.

I've been wanting to make a ffxiv journal for awhile now and finally started. i know you can track all these things in-game/digitally but i like to have something physical. here's the draft pages for tuliyollal - it'll be a long term project and im going to tag it #unendingcodex to keep track

its also nice to go back to inking traditionally, it just feels a lot nicer to me than digital drawing, i think because having ctrl+z makes me too perfectionist. im not good at lettering though so im just going to photoshop that part.

im hoping to do each of the DT areas before evercold - so far its been nice to go back and appreciate the earlier zones that i havent been to since msq as well as catch up on side content i think i'll buy a binder to put them in so i don't have to draw things in a particular order.

Anyway thats my negativity over im excited for everything else they announced. Im really hopeful for the direction theyre taking things in and I'm feeling a lot more invested in the story already after dawntrail not really hitting for me

gil bun🍂 semi-hiatus @gilbun.bsky.social · 25/04/2026

Im not asking for region matching for such a small dc - i know we're too small and not the priority here. Just some kind of consideration when they make these kinds of system changes. Please just let us dc travel during off-peak times, it would make such a difference

020

gil bun🍂 semi-hiatus @gilbun.bsky.social · 25/04/2026

And you shouldn't want me to transfer either!! It causes extra congestion during expansion release and unnecessary housing competition. SE invested in materia to relieve some of that burden, but its been forgotten about and people are leaving or just unsubbing

120

gil bun🍂 semi-hiatus @gilbun.bsky.social · 25/04/2026

Materia is great during peak aest times. But now that we're getting into the end of an expansion and a lot of people are on break, roullettes just dont pop outside of peak times. I dont want to pay to transfer to JP or NA just so i can do alliance or normal raids on a sunday afternoon.

110

gil bun🍂 semi-hiatus @gilbun.bsky.social · 25/04/2026

I want to stay on materia because -my friends and fc are here -i can raid with a static and have good ping (no double weaving or mch on a different dc) -theres plenty of housing -less congestion during expansion release (which benefits other dcs too!)

110

gil bun🍂 semi-hiatus @gilbun.bsky.social · 25/04/2026

I expect materia to be left out of things like this, but it really does feel like theyve forgotten about us and the dc is becoming less sustainable as a result We still cant dc travel, despite everyone being able to visit us. Its frustrating because the tech exists but isnt being used

Ive got nothing prepared for vierapril and idk if I'll participate at all this year. feels a bit sad because it will be the first year in awhile ive done nothing, but i need to prioritise my health (which is slowly getting better, but i need to be picky about activities to manage chronic fatigue)
