Glitch here! Updates have been slow the last few months due to production being paused. My prep/research/watch time has been eaten up by some family stuff. Quinn and I hope to be back on the recording and editing grind before too long!

Update on plans to review Cartoon Planet on Patreon: It turns out Cartoon Planet is less watchable than my memories of it from age 9 would otherwise indicate, and is wholly incompatible with our review plans.

Quinn and I are thrilled to have the first major turning point of the project visible on the near horizon, and at the approaching prospect of releasing episodes for listeners to enjoy. Looking forward to sharing more with y'all as it becomes available!

In the meantime, we'll announce a release date in the next 1-2 months (fingers crossed). We're waiting until we feel we've got enough of a backlog edited to keep our hinders thoroughly covered in case of scheduling disruptions.

Cartoon Planet will be a short diversion that will occupy the rest of February and some of March, and then just a we're just a very short sprint away from starting our Season 1 coverage of Adult Swim!

120

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 14/02/2026

Next we're going taking a short break from C2C to record the start of our Patreon bonus episodes, our coverage of Cartoon Planet. With Brak's increasing presence in the show, it seems like critical content.

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 14/02/2026

Covering 54 episodes of a TV show (even if they're usually only 15 minutes), researching and contextualizing about half as many guests, and summarizing nearly four years of world history is no small feat and we're really proud of our work!

Quick Production update thread! @birdtypeglitch.bsky.social Here! -Quinn and I are recording pt4 of our Space Ghost Coast to Coast Season 4 coverage tomorrow. -S0E0 is edited and S0E1 is underway **Shout out to @monkipi.bsky.social 's editing efforts through their unreasonably hot winter.**

Quick update on production status! -Our 1997 coverage is halfway finished! 1997 is our biggest hurdle due to the sheer size of Season 4 compared to the others, but we're chugging along nicely. -Editing is underway! S0E0 is 90% edited.

Horrifying discovery while going through Adult Swim's year 1 schedule to prep my media library for s1. We're gonna have to watch at least one episode of Tenchi Muyo with dub. FUCK.

Cheese and crackers, this is an exhaustive thread! Thanks so much for the headstart here.

Space Ghost/Adult Swim fandom question - Anyone have recommendations for primary sources covering the behind-the-scenes happenings at Ghost Planet/Williams Street? I've been gathering what info I can but useful info is surprisingly sparse, since the internet is just 1000 copies of one article now.

021

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 16/11/2025

Quinn and I are really hitting our stride with this project and can't wait to have Season 0 edited and ready to start sharing. Ghost Pod, signing off!

020

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 16/11/2025

What I CAN share is that we have archival footage of the first broadcast night of Adult Swim at a whopping 5 hours and 45 minutes, commercials and bumpers and all baybee. Season 1 Episode 1 is going to be dedicated solely to the premiere night experience.

130

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 16/11/2025

We've got a bit of time before we're at that point so the exact structure of format from Season 1 onward is something that's still in a constructive phase, and we don't have enough of it finalized to share much about our plans going after that.

110

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 16/11/2025

After this we're going to shift to our coverage of Adult Swim proper with Season 1, which we'll begin working on after Season 0 is fully edited and has started releasing. We haven't yet determined if this will be weekly or bi-weekly.

110

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 16/11/2025

Since Season 8 of Coast to Coast is split between the pre-and post-Adult Swim era we'll only cover the two pre-Adult Swim episodes during our coverage on Season 0 Episode 7. This is currently where it's most likely we'll delve into the show's production history and profile the creatives behind it.

110

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 16/11/2025

At 11 episodes, Season 5 will most likely take 2 recording sessions and be covered in two parts. Season 6 is one that Quinn and I (Glitch here) aren't sure on yet. At 8 episodes it's right on the line between trying to do all our coverage in one episode vs splitting it into two. TBD.

110

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 16/11/2025

Recording update! S0E3pt3 has been recorded, finishing out our coverage of Space Ghost Coast to Coast season 3! Since Season 4 is the largest season by a significant margin we'll also be recording it in parts, 4 recording sessions covering 6 episodes at a time.

*This was going to be a footnote gag but I forgot to do it when writing this thread, and now I can't remember what the gag was. I'm sorry I let you all down, and I ask that you respect my and my family's privacy during this trying time.

It's kinda cool that Gary Larson is doing new cartoons because he picked up a digital tablet, taught himself how to use it, and it made him love drawing again. www.thefarside.com/new-stuff/

We currently push to maintain a weekly recording schedule (to mixed success, we are both busy adults with a variety of grownup obligations), with plans to have a full season in the hopper before we release episodes. We currently plan to stick to a seasonal release format going forward.

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 14/11/2025

Quinn's side of the research game is currently focused on the guests of SGC2C as we make our way through the pre-AS era of the podcast, which we go over during the recap/review portion of each episode.

100

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 14/11/2025

Along the way we'll also occasionally dive into production history and examining the cast/crew of the SGC2C and later Adult Swim era productions.

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 14/11/2025

Our goal is not just to provide context for future jokes that may reference real life events, but also to provide context for the lead-up to and fallout of 9/11, which happens VERY shortly after the September 2001 launch of Adult Swim.

100

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 14/11/2025

"Concurrent Events" is a segment where I (Glitch) recap world events that took place during the selection of episodes, with a research-based "Deep Dive" into one topic in particular.

100

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 14/11/2025

During Season 0 we're dedicating 1 episode to each season of Space Ghost Coast to Coast. Our Episode structure is split between "Concurrent Events" and Recap/Review.

100

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 14/11/2025

Season 0 will conclude with a retrospective episode where we go into our thoughts on the series overall and our thoughts of Adult Swim on the horizon.

100

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 14/11/2025

Currently we're in recording and editing phase for Season 0, which is where we cover Space Ghost: Coast to Coast up to the launch of Adult Swim proper, which will mark our switch to Season 1 proper.

100

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 14/11/2025

What is the show? The House That Tad Ghostal Built is an upcoming discussion podcast focused on a longform review of the output of Adult Swim, starting with its precursor Space Ghost Coast to Coast.

Recording Update: We try to shoot for recording weekly but had to take a couple weeks off due to Life Circumstances, but got back on that grind this week! Season 0 Episode 3 Pt1 is fully recorded! (Our coverage of S3 of SGC2C had to be split into a three-parter due to external limitations)

011

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 15/09/2025

That said, it's GOOD to know that the grim parts are being glossed over by a lot of retrospectives. We'll have to take that into consideration when we determine how we want to handle going into production history.

010

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 15/09/2025

I'm not familiar with the current state of how other retrospectives are handling it, actually! We're both lifelong animation enthusiasts who had many youthful years of enjoying late-night Cartoon Network, but neither of us has been plugged-in to the fandom scene in quite some time til recently.

110

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 15/09/2025

We are vocally on the side of the workers in any management/labor dispute, both in the case of the SGC2C crew and regarding the practices of Adult Swim/CN/WBD heading into and during the modern era.

121

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 15/09/2025

The Merrill and Jones situation HAS been mentioned indirectly, but behind-the-scenes production lore isn't something we've gone deep on yet. We plan to talk about later in our Season 0 review of the pre-Adult Swim era once we feel we've got the basics of our format and structure sound.

111

The House that Tad Ghostal Built @ghostpod.house · 14/09/2025

Ghostpod recording update: S0E2 is 100% recorded and backed up! We got this one done in a single recording session, a feat we will almost certainly be unable to replicate with Season 3 of Space Ghost Coast to Coast.

The Adult Swim removals were for The Brak Show, Sealab 2021, Superjail, and Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job. Adult Swim typically adds any show HBO Max removes to its website, in full, for free... but it hasn't done so just yet. Presumably because todaybor day is Labor Day.

HBO Max removed the last two Boomerang shows and four more Adult Swim shows last night. The Boomerang removals, Scooby-Doo Where Are You and The Scooby-Doo Show, leave the hub completely empty. And it doesn't know what to do about that.

Screenshot of HBO Max, showing how the lack of any content on the Boomerang hub leads to a confused "For You" section recommending things like Peacemaker, Sinners, and The Pitt.
