Its like how he hears the word asylum and thinks its a nuthouse. He conflates trade deficit (which is OK) with our economic deficit of 2 trillion (not OK bc we borrow $ and taxpayers pay that interest). As a result, he is ruining the economy with tarriffs while causing a deficit with tax breaks

I think you are giving him too much credit. He doesnt know interest rates are tied to inflation. He also doesnt know a trade deficit is mostly a good thing and ignores the "real" deficit ($2 trillion and growing), the interest on which costs taxpayers every day. I dont agree nothing positive happened in the days after 9/11. People came from all over the country to help search, restaurants gave meals, people donated blood and there was a sense that we would get thru it together.
