I think Iron Pineapple said it is a game that just kinda gets better the more you get into it. You may feel like the strangeness is a bit muted in the beginning but I will say that the further you get in the crazier and crazier it gets. Though if the combat isn’t working for you I can’t fix that :/

I hope you do Pat, I’m kind of with you on the combat but switching it up for myself has helped with fatigue. And now being in the last few hours of the game the game rides on its world building and level design. I would love to see you experience more of the it as it’s still Remedy’s best trait.

Also while I’m into it more than you, it does very much feel like Remedy’s first crack at a Character Action Game. Like, look at all these options you have to play how you want, you can use any combo of the three trees. And then you settle on one combo and don’t move cause there’s no incentive to.

Seems like I was correct in thinking you might bounce off Resonant pretty hard, its rough for this to come so close after Onimusha. Though it is interesting though cause the game combat it reminds me the most of Nier Automata. Hmm maybe the Yoko Taroness was a bigger motivator than the Remedy Sauce?

As someone who’s probably way worse at Action Games than you Pat, I think the enemy aggression is made for me, the mid action game player. I still get defeated by mobs some of the times regardless of how many bosses I’ve beaten (mostly cause I’m bad as Issen and Parrying).

For the OOT remake, I’m kinda on the fence. I like the look of the world, that looks just how I thought a more detailed Kokiri Woods and Castle Town would look. But man those Character models are just not it for me. Like something just looks so off when I look at Link or Zelda in that game.
