In the middle of the floor, on the kitchen rug, was my mother's head. A doppelgänger. It hissed and laughed, and when Granny and mom begged me to go back to bed, it taunted me - told me it was my real mom, that I should listen to it instead.

The earliest nightmare I can remember has haunted me my entire life. I was (irl) spending the night at my Granny's while my mom was at work. I woke up (in the dream) to a bunch of noise in the kitchen. My granny and mom were on opposite sides of the kitchen, trying to block my view of the floor.

At worst, it's a bit half-baked. Characters just vanish, threads dangle, and no gags reach for any kind of fever-pitch hilarity. Anyway, its rep was bad and I found it cute. (I didn't like it as a kid, but the Old Hollywood-ness of it escaped me.)

When I was a kid, I scrounged couch cushions for change to take my family to the dollar movies. The only thing appropriate was HAUNTED HONEYMOON. I watched it for the first time tonight since 1986 and it's not so bad. Fairly stylish, mildly amusing, honors "old dark house" movies well enough.

A roller coaster seriously injured the brains of over 100 riders & a vocal minority are upset that it’s now permanently closed. The attitude of “But that’s THOSE people, not ME” over something absolutely unnecessary that has legit ruined lives feels like part of the American identity at this point.
